Orbitcast reporting Oprah may have signed with XM!!

Nothing solid yet, but Orbitcast is saying that there is a buzz the Oprah Winfrey may have signed with XM. If this pans out, it will mean BIG numbers for XM, as Oprah has a gigantic, almost cult like following.

Orbitcast says "More on this as it develops…"

Being big on TV doesn't necessarily translate to being big on radio.

This is almost as ridiculous (if true) as Sirius' deal with Martha Stewart.

Don't get me wrong, I have no interest in Oprah, but she doesn't really equate to Martha Stewart to me. Martha Stewart's TV show revolved around cooking and decorating (visuals) Oprah revolves around discussion, which can translate to the radio easily.

I guess. But my least favorite channels on XM are the TV ports like MTV, VH1 and Discovery. Adding more of the same seems like a bad idea.

Difference is, this might actually be a radio show. Interesting to see how things turn out.

Now the NY Post is reporting that the deal is closer to being signed...with Sirius?!?!?!?
