That's it, I'm walking. gas up 33 cents since Monday, - Page 71

Re: That's it, I'm walking. gas up 33 cents since Monday,

Actually, isn't the ones who did stop buying gas that are responsible for the latest hikes? (i.e. demands are down so they're trying to squeeze more money out of the current demand)

Re: That's it, I'm walking. gas up 33 cents since Monday,

ugh, first time filling up my tank cost more than 40 in quite a while.

OTOH, at least this summer I only have to buy gas once every four-five weeks, rather than once every five-six days.

Re: That's it, I'm walking. gas up 33 cents since Monday,

Re: That's it, I'm walking. gas up 33 cents since Monday,

We've dropped to about $2.65.

Re: That's it, I'm walking. gas up 33 cents since Monday,

down to about 2.40ish in mid missouri

Re: That's it, I'm walking. gas up 33 cents since Monday,

Still on the climb in upstate NY. Up to $2.85 in many places.

(Although I am seeing a few stations still in the mid-$2.70s. Ten-cent variances at mainstream stations have been few and far between around here for a long time.)

Re: That's it, I'm walking. gas up 33 cents since Monday,

Well, the "Most Expensive Gas Station That I Drive By in CT" is up to $2.99
post #2110 of 2222
Well, two posts ago (or one month), I was reporting gas in my area at $2.85.

Today it has dropped to $2.59 at the corner station near my home in upstate NY.  Maybe it's not dropping as fast as it went up (or maybe that's just my perception!)...but at least it's been on a steady decline since after Memorial Day.

Let's keep it dropping!
we are down to 2.11 here, i think the highest we got a month or so ago was just shy of 2.50
post #2112 of 2222
yeah $2.62 from the expensive place near me.

anyone know why it started coming down?
I think it came down because inventories were higher than expected and econmic indicaters were weak so the price of crude oil dropped to near $60 a barrel. It's still @ $2.74 in my neck of the woods, though. But it's all based on speculation.

Edit: Well, it isn't all based on speculation. Production certainly has a lot to do with it. And the strength/weakness of the dollar.
Something like $2.74, I think? It jumped recently, I think. I liked the sub-$2.50 pricing. Helps with the budget.

Filled up for $2.49 on Wednesday (down from $2.59 a few days before).

Higher gas prices will be the down-side to any economic improvement.  Demand for oil and gas will increase, so prices will surely rise at the pump.  Recession vs. cheap(er) gas... apparently we can only have one or the other.

Best I found, Malcolm was $2.51 at Gracey's Convenience store on Williston Road.  That was the same as the most recent price I paid at the Albany BJs Wholesale Club.  Most South Burlington and Burlington (Shelburne Road area) stores seemed to be @ $2.59.
well now that chain is back up 11¢ to 2.35. i dont know whats going with gas. another few stations had it at 2.29 and the rest are still at 2.24.
