Re: Batman Begins' sequel (Merged)
I urge everyone to take the following with a grain of salt because more than likely, it's fake. According to this article, which doesn't seem all too legitimate given the language used in the quotes, Christopher Nolan won't be directing The Dark Knight. Jonathan Nolan will. It says that both Chris and Jonathan will write, but Chris won't direct. Again...take it with a grain of salt.

In a stunning blow to Warner Brothers, and Batman fans all over the world, Batman Begins director Christopher Nolan has confirmed that he is leaving the directorial reigns of the much anticipated sequel, The Dark Knight, in favor of doing the big screen adaptation of the television show The Prisoner. The successor to Nolan as director of The Dark Knight will be none other than his brother, Jonathan "Jonah" Nolan. Both still plan to write the screenplay, which is said to have gone through 10 drafts already.
When asked why he left, Nolan said, "Batman Begins was an immensely gratifying and huge project to work on. It was by far the most work I have ever done on a film and quite possibly the most draining. I put everything I had into it and sacrificed two years trying to bring it to the big screen. Although a success in the end, the overall process was just too much for me. I'm not used to doing these types of big budget films. I am more used to doing smaller, more independet fair like Memento. It's just too much time and effort to put into one film, and I would rather do something smaller and more prolific like The Prisoner."
At Warner Brothers, Alan Horn said that "this is a great loss to the Batman franchise, but we have faith that Chris will deliver in the script and that his brother will step up and give us a worthy sequel to Batman Begins."
When asked about anxious and worried fans, Nolan said, "All I can say is that everyone can rest assured knowing that me and my Brother, Jonah, will write the screenplay for The Dark Knight and will make it into the best thing that we have written. And everyone can have faith in Jonah that, although this will be his first time directing a movie, he will without a shadow of a doubt, surpass what I created and started in Batman Begins" |
Interestingly enough, Christopher Nolan's name as been removed from the listing of The Dark Knight on IMDB.
