Is there any word on a UK release of season 3 of both series? I can't seem to find any links to purchase the German Season 3 of Bionic Woman or the Italian Season 3 of Six Million Dollar Man. If anyone can help me get season 3 of both series I would greatly appreciate it.

Two friends of mine were able to speak to Richard Anderson ("Oscar Goldman") in L.A. a few weeks ago at an autograph show.  He told them things may be "looking up", with Miramax in financial trouble and Disney looking to possibly dump the studio.  Apparently, Miramax may be willing to sell or trade the bionic rights back to Universal, since they have no plans for the franchise - or anything else for that matter -- given their current situation.

I hope that this is true. I would love to have a region 1 release of the entire series.

Hopefully Sandra Bullock's win tonight will encourage an English release of Bionic Showdown, the second Reunion movie and Sandra's debut.

Richard Anderson is the guy who would know, but I would venture that Uni would only be interested in a trade, like the Jim Carrey package that fell through. Cash out would probably be a deal breaker, since the profit margin on the release would be small. Love to be wrong on that. The rights do expire at some point, so Disney (Miramax is pretty well shut down, so I'm figuring it's up to the corporate parent to liquidate assets) would have to make a better offer than Uni could get by just waiting. Something we're all familiar with at this point .

Vis-a-vis the Italian partworks, I looked at the website with Google translation, and they are a wholesaler to Columbia House-style subscription services, and they don't do sales to the public directly. Also, they claim the run will finish in about 20 parts, which at 3 or so per disc doesn't extend beyond Season Three, so no advantage there over the existing Italian Season boxes. Season 4 + 5 still French - only.

I sent universal playback an email they reply that there are no plans for future releases of the six million dollar man remaining series

I just received the following note from Richard Anderson.  I sure hope what he has to say is true.

"Hey Matt: "Six Million Dollar Man"& Bionic Woman (the entire five years and three years) are returning on television cable in the United States.. June lst 20l0.  Universal Studios tells me spending one million dollars bringing films up to today's standards...together with a hugh
promotional campaign.  There is talk on NBC Si Fi channel.  Keep in touch, Best, Richard Anderson"

WOW!

This is huge, Matt. It really deserves it's own thread. I gotta take a breath and calm down. Wow.

So they made some sort of deal I imagine, or they wouldn't be taking this step. Champagne corks a-poppin'!

For now, as the kids says, let's keep it "on the down low".  I received the info as a top-secret memo from Oscar Goldman himself.  I'd hate to lose my OSI security clearance over the leak!  I assume the news will start popping up at other sites soon enough.

 I hope that means a R1 DVD release soon...or even better, a Blu-ray release.

Let a guy dream a little!
If bionic Blu-rays were to be the first for Universal's classic TV, I'd say it was worth the wait!

Then they will proceed to edit all the episodes down to 44 minute (The current length of shows in syndication.)  for cable airing.

I just received my copy of "El Hombre Nuclear" yeserday, I ordered it through Amazon.com
It mailed from the seller in Texas, was a great price.   I watched the first movie last night,
it was great, i'm so looking forward to the rest of the season.   It would be fantastic to have
all the SM$M and BW episodes on region 1, but if I have to, i'll get the imports if nothing
materializes soon.

Just happened to find this audio clip of the ABC opening promo for the 3rd movie,
"the solid gold kidnapping" from "the Suspense Movie of the week"

Hey!

WATCH THE LANGUAGE!
I know you may find it shocking but many people (myself included) are offended by obscene, vulgar language. Foul language is the lexicon of the low life and has no place among decent, civilized people. If you feel otherwise I am sorry for your loss.

And I'm sorry you, like so many others, have been brainwashed into thinking that 7 or so words are "vulgar and obscene", and can make someone a low life, and may even melt the eyeballs and eardrums of innocent bystanders. Regrettable that adults can't handle a simple combination of four or five letters.

...and I'm not even the one who screwed up by posting the original post!

Seriously, they're just words. There's a time and place for everything. Some message boards may not be it. But, if they weren't meant to be used here, they'd be censored as they are at many other sites.

Okay, let me step in here.

This forum has always been rated PG and intended
for a more mature reading audience.

I can understand the excitement of the original poster.
Under those circumstances we don't mind occasional
profanity sparked by overwhelming excitement.

However, if such language were repeated in post after
post or towards another individual we would immediately
removed the content and member.

Hope that clears things up.

Cool to know.

As for the Bionic series... I've never seen either of 'em. Were they good, solid 70s TV?" Something special?

If Time Life is getting Six Million Dollar Man, that'll probably be a complete series... is it generally considered good enough to be worth the money for the whole set?

YES! The show has really solid stories - You get a mix of scifi, adventure, and espionage throughout the entire series.

Some episodes have more of one element than another, but with Steve working for Office of Scientific Intelligence, You'd expect him to be involved with different types of missions.

There is a certain level of 70's cheese to the series - you know, big collars, big hair, bellbottoms, dubious scientific premises and pop culture of the day (bigfoot makes a couple of appearances right on the tails of a bigfoot mainia, and Evel Knievel shows up in an episode as a secret agent just so they can jump a bike over the Berlin wall), but the show is surprisingly solid.

I guess your millage will vary depending on how much retro you can stand. me - I cant wait, and this is even after the double dip!
I can hardly wait for these releases.  Yippeee!!!!

UK fans will be glad to know that the third reunion movie, Bionic Ever After? is being released on 27 September in Region 2. US fans may want to wait until November when all 3 reunion movies will be included in Time-Life's mondo-box (along with the 1973 movies and all five seasons plus much more!), but impatient fans who just want the bionic wedding can have it later this month.
