One of the leading filmmakers of the New German Cinema, Wenders films display a deep interest in America, rock & roll, jazz, and the Americanization of German culture. Rising to worldwide prominence in the 80's, Wenders has continues making films and music documentaries while serving as president of the European Film Academy.

1. Paris, Texas - A (By far my favorite of his films is this emotional journey of a man reconnecting with the family and self that he tried to bury. Striking images, terrific performances by Harry Dean Stanton and Natassja Kinski, and the music of Ry Cooder complement this film; set in America but with a European sensibility.)
2. The American Friend - B (The casting of Dennis Hopper is both a positive and a negative in Wenders adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's Ripley's Game)
3. Wings of Desire - B-
4. Don't Come Knocking - C+
*5. Ten Minutes Older: The Trumpet (Segment "Twelve Miles to Trona") - D+

Own: 1 (I should buy Paris, Texas)

A filmmaker I need to explore further, I'm more interested in his 70's films then in his more recent output. I would really like to see Tokyo-Ga his Ozu documentary, and would like to see Until the End of the World.
