Has anyone out there heard whether or not we will continue to see future Night Court season sets, or is it dead in the water??

We don't know nothing as of now only time will tell...

Pretty please with sugar on top? I WANT MORE NIGHT COURT!
I am starting to dislike the studio practice of releasing 1 or 2 seasons to see how they sell before committing to producing & releasing the rest.

I don't usually buy a season set unless I can get the entire series. (I know, I am anal) So I wont buy something like Night Court unless the who series was available. So by not buying the first season, I am helping cause the studio to not produce the rest. This is a catch22.

Studios should commit to a show and either release an entire series or not.

More Night Court please.

Yes, more Night Court, please.

While I would like to see more seasons of this show, I think Warner is directing most of their attention to superhero shows and "The Dukes Of Hazzard" at the moment.

I've been waiting almost a year for season 2 of "Mad TV", so I understand exactly where you're coming from.

Sincerely,

John Kilduff...

The price of future seasons sets should be 20 dollars, same as in town.

I'm definitely looking forward to more Night Court as well. It was a pretty popular show in its day (it did last for 9 seasons, after all). Considering all of the shows that are getting multiple releases, I can't imagine Night Court not selling well enough to justify more sets.

It will mark almost a year between the Dallas S1/S2 set and the S3 when that one comes out, but it is coming, so don't give up hope for this one.

Bring on the Markie Post years!

Markie Post was nothing. Ellen Foley was where it was at. I was only 2 years old when her run on the series ended, but I looked at the reruns of her episodes on Biography and I noticed that she was a definite babe.

Sincerely,

John Kilduff...

Well, at least that's what I think.

Well, maybe I reacted wrongly. Markie Post does look good, but what I meant to say was that everybody talks about her as if she was the only memorable and attractive female lawyer on that show. It seems like everybody has forgotten the 84-85 season of the show, which is the one I'm most familiar with through the reruns of the show.

Sincerely,

John Kilduff...

Well, that's where I stand at least.

Season 1 just came out in February, give it some time
post #15 of 129
Ellen Foley was cute. I just happen to think Markie Post was cuter, and that the show really hit its stride in terms of the ensemble and the characters in its mid period. (The last two seasons fell off considerably.)

But these are matters of taste. If you like vanilla ice cream I can't marshall logical arguments and convince you to switch to chocolate. Nor would I try. At the same time I wouldn't dismiss vanilla as "nothing" and somehow unworthy of support.

Just so there are no misunderstandings. As we used to say in the Bronx, "No autopsy, no foul."

Joe

I too am anxious for more Night Court. I'll happily buy all of the remaining seasons just as soon as they are released. NC is my second favorite TV show ever.

Well, it seems that the fanbase is there.
C'mon W.B. we are all waiting for N.C. season 2 and beyond!!

Support Night Court by watching the TV Land Marathon starting August 13 and then beg for more (the rest of the) Season sets on DVD!

Don't know how this fares for more NC DVDs but at my local Sam's Club, the NEW price of NC:S1 is now a little under $13. I bought it for $20-something there when it was first released.

ELLEN FOLEY HAD HORRIBLE CHOPPERS ...

Where's the love for Karen Austin?
I'd take Karen Austin or Paula Kelly over Ellen Foley any day. One season was too long. Let's hope they announce S2 soon!

Thanks for the heads-up, Keith! Now I really am feeling old.

Seriously, though; I'm glad it'll be on again. Our cable system doesn't have the Biography channel, so it's been a few years since I last watched any episodes (besides Season 1, of course).

I really do hope Warner gets around to more season sets. As I said in my earlier posts, this was a pretty popular show in its day, so I would imagine it would sell well. Maybe some people are waiting until the later seasons for the more familiar cast.

However, I would happily pick up every season (even the 9th one).

Yeah, having a favorite show turn up on TVLand is kinda like hearing a song you used to dance to in high school on the local Oldies station.

I keep checking tvshowsondvd daily hoping for a sign of S2 and it's getting quite depressing.

Unfortunately, I know what you mean, but I don't understand why..It was such a popular show with a huge fanbase. Just look at how many viewed this thread alone.
I still think that we may see a few more releases. But I doubt all 9 seasons will make it..
It's not official, but according to TVShowsonDVD.com, more Night Court may be coming out in a "Best of" collection: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=4390

Sigh. I know this is just "through the grapevine" information right now, but if it turns out to be true, it's disappointing.

I thought we were past all this "testing the waters" business. It seems to me that most of the people they are trying to reach would not buy "Best-of" sets, because they are waiting for season sets.

I guess we'll see what happens.
Warner Bros can take that best of crap and shove it right back up their ass! Release season set or nothing at all.
Warner Bros. probably made a big mistake by releasing six shows on one day, even at the low prices they sold for. Also, they might want to try again, since at least two of the shows (Murphy Brown and Night Court) hadn't been seen in syndication (at least not in all markets - not here in Atlanta) until this year (February for Murphy Brown, August (?) for Night Court) and new audience members such as myself want to have the sets now.
I don't get this logic. This is a step backwards. Some test of the waters. I don't even know what to say.
Maybe they're doing it to see if more seasons would sell if they release them, I would rather they do this, than them release a set and it not sell well and we get no more sets. It does show that they're behind it at least IMO>
