The only Aldrich film I saw at the cinema was The Longest Yard aka The Mean Machine.
Baby Jane I could only watch once, I'm not a fan of Joan Crawford or Bette Davis.

Sodom and Gommorah I've only ever seen a truncated 90min version on tv in full screen, would love to see it complete and in widescreen, Miklos Rozsa's score was the best thing about it.

2. The Dirty Dozen - B+ (need to see this again as I watched a bit on TCM a couple of nights ago and was enjoying even more than I did the first time around)

Again, would like to see several of his - Attack, Baby Jane, The Longest Yard (even though the Sports Guy spoiled the ending in his column this week. My own fault for reading it) and Emperor of the North Pole.

It's a late 60's taboo-breaking drama about lesbianism that was rather notorious in its time.

Sister George is a TV soap-opera character played by the films star, Beryl Reid. The Sister George character is about to be killed off from the show, much against the wishes of Reid and mostly due to the fact that she's in her sixties and 'unappealing'.

Reid is a boisterous loudmouth, insulting everyone she meets, goes home and takes out her frustrations out on her younger female lover (Susannah York). To make matters worse, one of Reid's female bosses is also a lesbian and sets her sights on seducing Reid's lover.

Melodrama, lesbians, lesbian sex, cutthroat showbiz antics, acidic comedy and brassy old broads!
