This was a very unpleasant surprise today. We are very fortunate that Home Vision has been releasing the M/I library with the inclusion of interviews from these artisans.
A very sad day indeed.

Dammit!!
Losing a good man and a great movie producer at the same time just isn't fair. He still had plenty of great work ahead of him. I don't know if I should be mad at him for not taking better care of himself, or at the people who were charged with healing him. But I'm very saddened by this, and mad at the injustice of it. No one will ever make movies the way the Merchant/Ivory team did. No one. It's the end of an era.
Rest in peace Mr. Merchant and thanks for making the world a better and more enjoyable place.
