Spam?

Within 5 minutes of posting a message here for the first time months (if not a year or so), I just got an email message from www.soundpros.com saying "thanks for visiting our site" and listing a bunch of "Spring sale" offers...

Has HTF started selling e-mail addresses or has something breached the hidden e-mail address feature?

I just checked your profile, and you don't have that feature turned on.

We do not send out any type of emails to anyone unless it is a general announcement.

If you don't want your email address accessable by the membership go to the Control Panel > Edit Options and enable the Hide Email Address.
