Start a stack in the garage. I've currently got 2 DVP's on the fritz. I've replaced both but am not betting on any increase in longivity which should add to my current stack within two years.

Throw it in the trash. If it doesn't work why would you want to unload it on someone else. If you take it to Goodwill, some poor chump is going to buy it and take it home only to find out it doesn't work (you can't test them at the store.
