Dean,
I spent several hours several weeks ago at my local dealer listening to the 3.6s. I can easily see myself moving up to them someday!!
To All,
I am still having trouble with my Marsh A400s amp wanting to clip if I turn my Marsh P2000t preamp up past 11:00 on the volume control. I have been doing some research and now am thinking that there may be an input sensitivity issue between my preamp and amp. Here are the spec for both units:
A400S Stereo Power Amp
Power output at 1 kHz: 200 watts x 2 at 8 ohms; 330 watts x 2 at 4 ohms
Frequency response, 20-20000 Hz: +0/- 0.2 dB at 1 watt to 200 watts output into 8 ohms loads, -1 dB at 80 kHz
THD+ noise at maximum output: <0.02% from 20 Hz to 20 kHz into 8 ohms loads (<0.01% at 1 kHz)
Slew rate: 40 V / uS
S/N ratio, A-weighted (ref. 200 watts): >110 dB
Input sensitivity for 200 watts at 8 ohms load: 1.4 Vrms for unbalanced and balanced input mode
Input impedance: 56 k ohms unbalanced, 4 k ohms, balanced input
Input power: AC 110-120 V 60 Hz
Power consumption: 900 watts max.
Size: 19" wide, 18.25" deep, 7.125" high
Weight: 45 lbs
Shipping weight: 54 lbs.
P2000T Tube Hybrid Preamplifier
Frequency response (20 - 20,000 Hz): +/- 0.1 dB
THD plus noise (1 Vrms, 20 - 20,000 Hz): <0.05%
Input impedance: 50 k Ohms
Maximum gain: 23 dB
Signal-to-noise ratio ('A weighted'): 90 dB
Maximum output (1 kHz): 8 Vrms
Crosstalk (1 kHz): -90 dB
Crosstalk (10 kHz): -90 dB
Power consumption: 30 W
Dimensions: 19" wide, 4.5" high, 13" deep

Several months ago, Audio Advisor was selling these 2 units in a package deal. I can't believe that AA would sell or Marsh would design 2 units that are not compatable!
I have read that these may solve or reduce my problem:

I am really grasping for any help that I can get. I know it is asking a lot from you guys, but if any of you have advice or input on this subject, it would be greatly appreciated!!
