Now I've done it!! My ASC sub trap arrived today!!

My system just jumped up 2 or 3 notches!! Everything just snapped in to place like never before. Much tighter low bass and more dynamic mid bass. WOW!! And the mid range is so much more cohesive!!

I'M DONE...yea right!!

Have you caught any subs in it yet? What do you use for bait?

The struts are scheduled for delivery tomorrow and my Exodus two channel amp is scheduled for delivery on Tues. The three channel amp is still a couple weeks out.
Still no luck in finding a pair of 3.6 dealer demos.

I got me a real nice Martin Logan, once I found the proper 'Depth'!!

Remember, it's not how deep you fish, it's how you wiggle your worm!!

Anacondas don't wiggle

My big, manly IB fishes really deep and it wiggles my worm.

I need some 10 gauge speaker cables - two pair of twelve footers and they need to look pretty. I'm not looking for anything exotic, and I'm most concerned with aesthetics since I can't hide my speaker cables anymore. Do you have any recommendations for reasonably priced ones?

Why 10ga, Dean-O? Are they for the 1.6s? Just get some Mapleshade stuff like myself and P....won't break the bank and it's barely noticeable.
They're for the 1.6s (and the 3.6s when I get them). The Mapleshade stuff isn't all that different from what I'm using now - Mil. Spec., Teflon insulated, silver plated stranded, twisted pair 10 AWG wire. I'm looking for something a little more flexible with some kind of covering. I use 10 AWG wire because of the long runs. My speakers aren't wired directly to the amps, most of my speaker wire (Bluejeans' 10 AWG) is run through the walls to wall plates near the speakers.

Dean, have you got struts??
Yep, they showed up in great shape this afternoon. It's probably going to take me a couple of days to get the damned box open.

Turn it on one of its sides and remove the 8 screws.

OOPS!! Me thinks you were pulling my leg and already have them open!!

Yes, I was just being my typical smartass self.
I had the struts installed within an hour of receiving them and I now have enough screws to do my kitchen remodel.

My system ROCKS

Dean:

Give Kurt an email at Blue Jeans cable for your 10G wire. I am sure he can hook you up with something and it will even cost you less.

6: I've already got plenty of BlueJeans' 10 AWG around here. I need something a little more flexible and dressed up.

I received my Exodus two channel amp today (my three channel should be here in about two weeks), got it hooked up to my 1.6s and Outlaw 990 using Bluejeans Cable's balanced cables, then did some comparisons using various CDs with my Outlaw M-200s and Adcom GFA-555. There is a significant difference between the Exodus and the other two - much more detail, much less smearing, a totally silent background, and the amp is more open sounding. These amps are going to work very nicely with the 3.6s.

Hey Dean tell us more about your amp now that you have had some time to listen to it.

The more I listen to this amp, the more I like it. (My three-channel is scheduled for delivery today. )
The amp is very neutral and one of the cleanest amps I've ever heard. The noise floor is non existent - total dead silence - and the amp drives my Maggies with ease. I'm also noticing a lot of micro detail that I was unable to hear with any of the other amps that I've owned. At its price point it's in a field by itself for both HT and music, IMO.
Another thing I like about these amps is the fact that they're modular. For those of us who just can't leave things alone, they can be upgraded fairly easily. Which is something I plan to do in the very near future.
The amps are also very easy to assemble if one is inclined to DIY. Most everything is plug 'n' play and requires only a minimum of soldering. In fact, I understand that DIY Cable will be coming out with a DIY kit that won't require any soldering whatsoever. I like the things so much that I'm ordering a four channel DIY kit to drive the subwoofers in my IB. It's gross overkill, but what the Hell.

Howdy guys,

Just a quick system update. I originally had Audioquest Granite speaker cables, but moved on to the anti cables. (better) Then I tried the Mapleshade Golden Helix (better still)

Now I am using Nordost Solar Wind speaker ribbon type speaker cables. It is like night and day best yet. The inner detail and dynamics are to die for. I am going to have to try their interconnects!!

BTW, both the 8ft. pair of anti cables and Mapleshades are up for grabs at $40 and $45 respectively!!

P: Please check your messages....there is a guy on another forum who could really use your advice, and I sent you his contact info.

Also, how are those cables working out?? Have you gone with the interconnects yet??

How are the rest of the Alans and honorary Alans doing?? 6?? Dean-O??? Why are you all so quiet lately???

I'm still around, but I've been busy remodeling the kitchen. I've been spending my free time enjoying my new amps and universal player. I'm also looking to follow in P's footsteps and pick up some equipment for a dedicated two(or possibly 2.1) channel system to incorporate into my multichannel stuff. I'm even thinking of revisiting tube amps again and giving them another try.

I have some recommendations for cables for Maggies based on my own experience with 3As, 1.6qrs, and 3.6s:

Cardas
Nordost (their new cables are a lot less pricey and are almost Valhalla like sonically)
Audio Research (they make a fine Litz)

All of these three seem to work well.
