from an extremely reliable source close to the band, the completion of "Wish You Were Here" on SACD is almost done!

i wonder if they will do "Animals" next?

ooh, I want Animals in surround..

also, can this extemely reliable source say when the Pulse DVD will be done?
The new article on Brain damage which mentions this SACD news says that pulse has been delayed again till mid year.
After all this, Pulse better be the best concert DVD of all time.

drooling.....

This is AWESOME news.

Every night I dream of someday having all of the glory years Floyd (plus Atom Heart Mother and Meddle) on SACD surround...

Let's hope they get a move on with Animals and The Wall

If I can't have Animals right away, WYWH more than fills that void! I say: BRING IT!

This is great news. I reported on it at Steve Hoffman.

Can you give us a hint as to who your source is or how they know for certain?

Joe and Sandy over at www.pinkfloyd-co.com

they have had a personal relationship with the band for over 30 years now...the most reliable source of legitimate information along with www.brain-damage.co.uk

Cool. Thanks Jordan.

Great news.

Fabulous. Contains one of my favourite Floyd pieces, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, which I'm sure you aficionados would agree is, like the already-released DSotM, a prime candidate for a rocking multichannel mix. Heck, most of Floyd's material is...
Can't wait. However, coming just about 2 years after DSotM, I have to say I sure hope they pick up the pace a bit!! If any band should have their entire catalog in surround, it's Pink Floyd.
Yes! More Floyd on SACD!

Now how bout the Wall?!
Classic Floyd on SACD is great news.
Presumably this is intended for a 30th Anniversary re - issue, like DSOTM ?

Regards

Maybe, but I hope that's not the norm for future releases -- I do not want to wait till 2009 for The Wall. Even 2008 for Animals would be a painful wait. And what about Meddle?

Although I guess Pulse will be released as a 10th Anniversary Edition?
The first part of "Shine On..." is gonna sound killer in multichannel...I can't wait!

The 4-channel quad version already does.

UMMAGUMMA
ATOM HEART MOTHER &
MEDDLE

are what I wait for on SACD/DVD-A

Have you guys noticed that DVD's of Pulse and Delicate Sound of Thunder has been showing up on ebay as an overseas release? It claims to be legitimate, no copies and in Dolby Digital 5.1. The only thing that sucks is that it's in 4:3. Well, what the heck, Rush in Rio is too and I don't hear too many complaints on that
post #21 of 65
All current DVDs of PULSE are bootlegs.

Rather than invest in one of them I made my own from my LD. This will suffice until the real thing comes out.

Rush in Rio is widescreen, but it is not anamorphic widescreen.

any updates>?

Sounds like the WYWH SACD is still a "go", according to this interview of Nick Mason conducted at end of April (scroll halfway down on the page).

My fingers are, and have been crossed for a while!

Brief update:

The full surround mixing of the 1975 album Wish You Were Here is almost finished. Doing any work like this takes time to ensure it is right, and provides the best possible audio experience, but PFM confirm that we are certainly looking at the end of this year for a release of the album in hybrid CD/SACD (Super Audio CD) format.
Awesome. I hope this is true because I wanted to buy WYWH recently, but decided to hold out for the SACD version.

Anxiously waiting
SACD, baby...
Wow, half-a-year later and it's still "almost done"!
Well they did rehearse twice for the Live 8 thing, so the delay is understandable.
