Denon or Onkyo?

I bought an Onkyo, but I question whether or not a Denon would have been a better selection. Any tips or advice?

Something in particular you don't like about your Onkyo?
What model? What price range?

Something you think in particular the Denon would be better at? What model? What price range?

I'm a Denon head, but have been installing a ton of Onkyo's these days. I have not found anything particularly lacking on them performance wise yet.

John S- What would you choose in the $300-400 range? Denon has the 785@ $319 or the 885 at $434- Onkyo, TXLR552$340 or SR602 $400.Any others you would recommend?

I dunno, the Pioneer 1014 is getting rave reviews these days, but I have no auditioned one yet.

I'm still a Denon head, so I would tend for the Denon myself.

Really, Yamaha, Denon, H/K, Onkyo as well as others make some amazing equipment in this price range these days. I would have to evaluate which ne I thought was best.

A lowly Onkyo SR501 is pretty darn robust even.

I have owned an Onkyo 777 and now own a Denon 3805 and my opinion is the Denons seem to have an edge in sound quality. Seems to be warmer and more natural sounding with my speakers where the Onkyo was a little bright but still sounded nice.

Onkyo seems to have a slight edge in features or they used to. My 777 had input naming which my Denon does not. I helped a friend set up a new Onkyo 702 and could not find input naming in the manual so they may have dropped that feature. The Onkyo still has the Intelli-Volume feature that lets you match the volume levels of all inputs so that one is not louder than the other. Just my $.02 so take it for what its worth.

I have Onkyo amplifier A-SV620. I bought it 10 years ago together with Bose AM-5 speakers. The good things is , both of them are still kicking....

I' am going to uprade soon and definitely I'll go for ONKYO Audio video receiver but not sure yet which model!

Yes, I still have it. I'm using it for audio listening (CD audio) only. I 'm gonna buy new one for Video (home theater) coz my old Onkyo doesn't have High Defination (HD) capability.
