Just curious...

I'll be somewhere in Manhattan (NOT Times Square), standard diner/champagne/clubbing stuff. But I have yet to pick out a place, make reservations or buy tickets etc...

You?

Careful. You're cutting it close.

I'll be at a friend's dinner party. Very low-key evening.

I'll be on the west coast (I'm an eastcoaster) visiting with family and friends.

This is going to be my first vacation in 6 years. I still have so much to do to get ready for it....

I hope everyone here has a nice holiday and new year. Take care and stay safe!

Our semi-tradition is for two or more friends to get together and play games all evening. Last year, it was just me playing solitaire while my wife fell asleep on the couch, but it was comfortable inside, no drunks or jerks, and I won as many rounds as I lost.

Probably nothing. I'm not much a new year's person, I never make such a big deal of it anyway. But it is a holiday (even though it falls on a saturday this year) so I'll probably be getting ready for a NYD cycle trip or hiking trip.

Arrrrrgh!!!

I just found out the g/f wants to do Times Square . Completely miscommunicated on that one. I can't say no, it's a lifelong dream of hers (west coaster).

Having done it twice, I am definitely not in a big hurry to go back.

Dammit.

My New Year's are usually pretty low key. My "craziest" was actually a combined bachelor's party and New Year's Eve bash. We were standing in front of "Big Al's" in San Francisco when the hour turned

My most enjoyable was just hanging out with friends and playing Cranium, then introducing the older members of our group to a first person shooter video game. It was pretty funny how lost they were.

Not a whole lot. Much cheaper that way and much safer.

I am not much for the crowd thing, so time square would not be my idea of fun. Sorry you have to go back....

Having a small party at my house. We've invited about a dozen friends for a game of board games and such. We did this two years ago and had so much fun that we all forgot about the changeover.

Dinner and dancing. Should be a good time. I like New year's eve for the most part. I've had my fair share of bad ones, but most are fun.

My wife and I will be back home celebrating New Year's with our new baby daughter! Six more days and counting!

I'll be performing 3 shows at the Hyatt Regency in KC, with Comedycity, doing improv comedy!

It pays pretty well!

house party at friends house, complete with hot tub, topless waitresses and kareoke ...

Going to a New Years Eve bash featuring Wide Mouth Mason (band from Saskatchewan) at a club with some friends. Since I normally don't go to clubs on New Years this should be kind of fun.

No idea. I'm flying back to Rochester on the 30th and will looking for a party. My favorite New Year's activity is a casual party with friends, playing games.

I will also be performing. I play sax in a band and we will be doing some big party at a catering house.

i suspect i'll just be staying home with the family...maybe going over to my sisters for a while. we all like to do the board games as well.

sometimes i wish i still partied like when i was younger. we used to throw some seriously "heavy duty" parties, with all sorts of drinks and other ... umm ... party favors. but man, i just don't think i have it in me anymore.

I've been selling my ass for real cheap to get to Madison Square Gardens to see The Flaming Lips. I'll do anything I have to do to get there.

Heading to Myrtle Beach - anyone know what goes on there ? We'll have 4 girls with us, ranging in age from 10 to 16. Hopefully the buses will be running to Boardwalk on the Beach or somewhere with fireworks....

Friend rented out a club in Boston and will be there for the second year in a row. Generally not a club person, but when it's a private party it is more enjoyable. Should be a good time.

Getting horribly, horribly sloshed at a friends house. He's just finished his degree, and is moving to the opposite end of the country for work, all the way to BC. Friends for almost 20 years, and he's leaving on January 3rd, so it's pretty important that we have about 30-40 people over and make complete and utter messes of ourselves one more time before he leaves.

Fat chance, I have nearly succesfully weaseled my way out of it . But it also leaves me with no concrete plans at this point. I guess we will play it by ear, it's a big city.

A variation on what Michael wrote: a low-key evening with friends—excellent canapés and first-rate champagne (e.g. Bollinger R.D. and Krug). I’ll kiss my wife and all my female friends at midnight—and home shortly thereafter.

Haven't firmed up the dinner plans yet, but at the stroke of midnight I'll be on the Strip in Vegas.
