QuAUDIOPHILIAc / Pioneer 563a

Just checking... does everyone's copy of Zappa'a QuAUDIOPHILIAc play back properly?

Can't get mine to play back from either hi-res layer (DVD-A or 2-ch), though the DTS layer plays back OK... and nothing via the digital out (which I think is as it should be, no PCM option on the disc).

I'm sure it's my yet-to-be-fixed Pioneer DV-563a (documented DVD-A playback flaw), but I thought I'd ask other QuAUDIO users first.

It plays fine for me in HiRez on my Pioneer (I think it's the 43a?).

Anybody else?... before I start my grim march to the -- and I use the term loosely -- Local Authorized Pioneer Service Center... ?

Greg,

You Pioneer unit has had problems with certain DVD-A for quite sometime. A free firmware upgrade is available through Pioneer. It's time to get your unit upgraded.

Oh, I know... I just put it off because:

A) I've bought way fewer hi-res discs than I thought I would, hadn't encountered a 'hiccup' til now.

B) The local neighborhood Pioneer repair facility blows -- to put it mildly... necessitating shipping (and the cost one-way).

So if I gotta, I gotta.

I still think it's a decent little box for $150... except for the silver finish.
