I haven't made any message posts in this discussion thread in quite some time now because frankly I've only just completed viewing the entire VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA - SEASON ONE, VOLUME ONE 3-disc set and wanted to hold back on commenting until its completion.
All things considered I must say that I have nothing but praise for it!
My only real disappointment is that the unaired VOYAGE colour pilot episode "Eleven Days to Zero" (14/09/1964) didn't have the original opening title credits and that the next week previews of upcoming episodes featured in the first three segments aired weren't included but most importantly (contrary to what has been reported online) all of the episodes played just fine and the microcompression in this instance didn't pose any technical problems I'm relieved to report.
Indeed, both the VOYAGE and THE TIME TUNNEL tv series DVD sets have proved to be an absolute dream come true that (at least for myself) they will rank among the two best tv series releases of 2006 (unless of course THE INVADERS is pending sometime later this year as well).
I've only quickly glanced over the previous (recent) message posts made and for the benefit of those VOYAGE fans who were destressed about it the VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA - SEASON ONE, VOLUME ONE 3-disc set is due out on July 11th, 2006 so you have nothing to be concerned about.
I (for one) fully intend to purchase the entire series of both VOYAGE and THE TIME TUNNEL and it will be nice to finally put these two long sought after SF tv series aside so that I can now concentrate on other likely television properties for DVD like the aforementioned THE INVADERS (ABC 1967-68) something I fully intend to do.
The (apparent) success of both these classic Irwin Allen 1960s SF television shows (both of which I vigorously lobbied for in this discussion forum incidently as evinced by my message post history) only adds (considerable) weight to my argument for a DVD release of THE INVADERS.
In other words, SF in particular (despite its vintage) is very popular with the mainstream DVD consumer out there and has a guaranteed established market...most probably it's the single largest purchasing group!
