I think that Warners unlike Fox saw the value of puting this title out.

The title yes pricey 26 bucks that is with UPS shiping. I am very glad I got it.  Someone mention early in the thread the Time Tunnel itself was in Pacfica Control.  I of course saw the quipment the ribs of the tunnel I thought I saw. I also thought I saw Seaview in the frame first showing the city in the background.

I know there are a lot of people waiting for Warner tv shows to be released and it looks like that may happen to.  I also spoke to them and they mentioned Video on demand and all titles from Archive are 19.95.  The UPS charge is what makes it cost more.  I wish Fox and all the rest will follow this policy.  I want Voyage though restored and nothing less.  It just would be a tragedy to get the last 13 any other way.  The united voice though that we give them and set by the guide lines that Joel gave us is most certainly the way to go.  Get City Beneath the Sea if you can afford the cost and see Irwin Allens last venture in network tv.

I received my copy of CITY BENEATH THE SEA yesterday, along with the two Roddenberry pilots of GENESIS II and PLANET EARTH.  The two Roddenberry flicks are presented in their original TV ratios of 1.33:1, but CITY is in a Widescreen 1.78:1.  I'm guessing that this movie was released theatrically elsewhere and was filmed in a matted process, so the when presented on the older sqaure TV screens, we saw more top and bottom, but in the theatres and now widescreen televisions, we get to appreciate the widescreen image.

Generally, the film looks presentable, with areas of dirt and occasional brief print damage on view, but the colors look natural, the image relatively sharp, and the audio seems fine.

If you're looking for the remnants of the old TIME TUNNEL, look no further than the giant oval portals looking out on Pacifica.

November is here so let's cross our fingers for some news.

I don't know if this is a good sign or a bad sign, but over at the DVD Talk Forum, the Out-Of-Print Titles thread is listing VTTBOTS S2V1, S3V1 and S3V2 as being discontinued as of the week of October 18, 2009.

Knowing fox they are probably repackaging the sets like they did for The X Files. The sets look like the last release of Voyage season 4 volume one.
My first thought was that they were preparing for a complete series set, but your idea makes more sense.
Hopefully this week we will hear something.
I wouldn;t bet on it.

With Fox there's every possibility they'll drop those last 13 episodes.

I can't believe we've had a gap of 17 months followed by a gap of at least a year between two half seasons.

I guess we'd have had mor elike if the series had featured kung-fu and vampires.

I'm not banking on seeing this last set either, although I pray I'm wrong.

Gary "if this last half season isn't released it's really going to be a shame" O.
That out of print list also shows The Complete Ally McBeal as going OOP, and it was only released in the first week of October.

Either this is incorrect, or the initial was release was limited edition, or it is being repackaged very rapidly indeed.
Well here we are again, back in the old familiar territory of "if there was going to be a release, we'd have heard about it by now"

I think out biggest hope of S4V2 would have been a year after the release of S4V1, and we heard about that this week, last year

and, so far...nothing.

Sigh

Never mind, lets all celebrate the 98th release of Buffy!

I have to say, I find Fox's release schedules utterly incomprehensible. Was The Mary Tyler Moore Show really that much more popular that S5 gets a release in September, and S6 follows in Febuary, whilst Voyage fans had to wait 17 months between S3 and S4, and have been kept waiting for at least a year between two halves of the final season, assuming the last 13 episodes out of 110 actually make it to disc at all?

It drives me crazy.

It wouldn;t be so bad if we'd actually had a committment to release the final half season somewhen.

are you surprise with the show being delayed? I am for one not. I just hope this show does not have the issue like starsky and hutch, which took 2-3 years for the final season to be released.

While the waiting continues, let me tell you about a discovery I made this week.

I was watching the vintage commercials extra on Disc 4 of VCI's Honey West boxset, and what should appear?  An ABC promo for Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (Sunday nights at 7 PM ET) and The F.B.I. (8 PM ET).
Tim, that's really great, I always wish that series on DVD included original promos.  One cool thing about watching DARK SHADOWS: THE BEGINNING is they still have the original network end credits where the staff announcer plugs upcoming shows on ABC for that night or week.  So far no VOYAGE, but I bet it pops up one of these episodes.

Possibly not, as VOYAGE was a Sunday night show for much of its run, and DARK SHADOWS was a Monday-Friday show.  Typically, those network announcer scripts were designed to push whatever show was on that night.  Maybe you'll hear a TIME TUNNEL promo!

Harry, there have been a few instances where the announcer has plugged weekend shows or other upcoming shows that were not airing that specific night. .  However, you are right, in that the majority have been for the same night and the most being for the show which directly followed DARK SHADOWS at that time, "WHERE THE ACTION IS."

Have any other series been released on DVD that includes the original staff announcer promotions on the end credits? I can't think of any besides DARK SHADOWS: THE BEGINNING.

Walt Disney Treasures Zorro the Complete First and Second Seasons has announcer Dick Tufeld doing the same type of “Next Week Promos” that he would later do for the Third Season of Lost in Space – for EVERY EPISODE! I love having this extra treat at the end of every show.

And, of course, Tufeld’s Third Season of Lost in Space promos are on the Third Season of Lost in Space DVD sets.

Image’s Twilight Zone has “lost” clips of Rod Serling DESCRIBING next week’s episode – but no clips are seen – only Serling with an occasional prop.

Star Trek TOS has the “Next Voyage” scenes narrated by William Shatner.

Strictly, I suppose Serling could qualify as TZ’s “announcer”, but Shatner would not qualify for ST TOS.

I don’t know why “Next Week Promos” aren’t standard inclusion with series DVD sets. I sure wish the VOYAGE sets had them.

Voyage Fans and Dark Shadows fans Happy Holidays. Dark Shadows never had a Christmas Episode like Voyage which I rewatch every year.  DS did however have reference to the Holidays from Maggie to Laura upon Laura's return to Collinsport.   DS does have Julia refer to Christmas in the return to 1969 episode 1st ep. Carolyn and David talk of Brewsters being open later hours for the holiday shopping in a later 1969 episode.

Sorry to say Voyage fans there will not be any promo's for Voyage on DS. There is a Happy 4th of July before that show begins filming. There is a Happy Holidays tag line on all episodes that aired during the 1966 Holiday season.  DS did indeed however plug Peyton Place and the Time Tunnel.  Tunnel had two promos.  Invaders fans will here much made of this show with multiple promos leading up the Invaders first show and after the first telecast of that show.  The other shows mentioned Iron Horse the Monroes  Sunday and Wednesday night movies and some ABC network specials.  The last promo on DS will be on the next to last ep on The Beginning Collection dvd 6. I know that DS 1st year quite well because the storyline of Matt Morgan and Laura facinated me as a kid.

In school 4th year maybe we had read a book called "David and the Phoenix" by Edward Ormondroyd 1957.  Laura being a Phoenix and a son called Daivd made the veiwing of these episodes in 1966/67 so much the better for me and the fact DS aired after school each day.

I owned both the VHS and DVD collections of DS.  DS VHS 54 Collectors Series ends with bonus episodes 1 from 1968 and  2  from 1969 episodes with commercials. The ABC network Promos make this fun to watch.

The Cemetary used in the "The Return of Phantom" was used in other tv series such as Peyton Peyton Place complete with Lani tomb stone.

I can't help but think studios have no consideration for fans. VTBS is a great example. It isn't enough that they wrenched every last penny they could get dragging this out over 8 separate releases. It also is taking quite a long time to complete this series--if they ever do.

Maybe they would like to break S4V2 into two releases or release a complete series only. I doubt it but, if they could get away with it they would.
I can't believe that Fox would abandon the series with only a half a season left.

I agree.  But where is the final season of Walker Texas Ranger? or the second season of SWAT?

I can just see it now: S4V2-Set1 followed by S4V2-Set2 (the latter sometime around 2012).

Or break it up into 13 mini-sets, released one every two years.

About the same rate as now, or at least, what it feels like.

Incidentally. we've already passed the time by which we owuld have heard about a March release.

Voyage to the Bottom of the sea discounted at local Discount Store.  I heard this from a buddie who phoned me about it.  The store is a sort Walmart discount chain here in the Midwest.  He knew I was a fan and asked me was it worth the investment.  He asked which season had the most monsters because that is what he wanted.

I was so amused his statement.   I of course told him season 3 but I said I am partial to Men Fish in season 2.

The Final season of Walker, Texas Ranger (Season 8) was the FIRST Season released! (Which is kind of an oddity). Season 7 is the only season they haven't released yet.
I am annoyed at Fox for its treatment of VTBS fans. We have been very loyal buy all of these releases. Now they are jerking us around waiting for this last installment.

If the beancounters told them they'd make 10 cents more money by burning the negatives in the furnaces and saving fuel costs rather than releasing them on DVD, the execs would say "get the matches"

you think that's a joke, but that's what caused the great Vault purge at Universal in the 80s and the infamous BBC bulk erase in the 70s - a few pinheads proving they could save money by dumping outtakes and recording over videotapes with those old worthless shows.

It looks as if the next to the last season of Walker Texas Ranger is going to be released after all.

Voyage fans I was going to do this after the holidays when office workers and the like feel less preasure but I frankly got tired of our wait.  Here it goes:

I phoned Fox.  The number is very hard to find.  Here it is 1888-223-2369.  The person said Voyage season 4 volume 2 is not on their radar.  I asked how soon due they get a title out for pre order at the Fox Store to which I was talking.  3 months at the very least not sooner.

The email for www.fox.com choose store option at bottom of page.  The other is FoxShop.com.  I must say however I could not bring up Voyage on either site.  Why I do not know.

I do however thru email receive the various Dvds they are releasing.  I asked if that would be where I would look in my email box they said yes. I have to say no sale. I never got a voyage release from emails to my box only only movie releases.  I have that email address somewhere back in this long thread.  The Fox main switchborad is 310- 369-4636.  That is where I obtained the store phone number.  I would call these guys at the 888 number and if you do ask for a website for requests or orders.

I am bumbed out on this already.

So does this mean they are not planning on releasing the last vol. of Voyage anytime soon? I am really starting to hate FOX. I did love them at one time. When they were releasing all the classic movies and some of their  classic tv. But that boat sailed a year or so ago.

Any company that has so little respect for the people that buy their product, that they would only release the first half of a season and never release the second,Big Valley, has no heart.
