Sony blows it with new portable music player - Page 2

First, Sony adds VC9 to Blu-Ray.

Now they add MP3 to their portables.

It's almost like the blithering idiots who have been running the company have left. Has there been a regime change?

Next thing you know there will be a DVD-A section on Sony's DualDiscs.

They're just facing reality. Many of their portable CD players have mp3-CD capabilities, and it didn't make sense to have some product lines with that capability and other, more important product lines not have it. Also, I'm sure the fact that some of the biggest electronics retailers in the world didn't want to carry the Network Walkman had something to do with this change.

Watch for the price of the Network Walkman to come down as well...
