Carl Reiner made an interesting observation in the commentary on The Gunslinger. He said that after they completed it that he realized the show had not run its course and it could have continued. Of course, by this time everybody had made committments based on the fact that the show was ending. It's a shame he didn't wait and see instead of saying the show would not be back at the beginning of the fifth season.

Now is a great time to buy all five (individual) sets of TDvDS on DVD. As of this writing, Amazon has them for just $22 a set (half what I paid in 2003 and 2004).

A GREAT DEAL!


Related Note:

It looks like they are using different photos on the box covers in different countries for the Van Dyke sets. Hadn't noticed that before:
