I'd go with the older stuff. Just like with CD's missing certain freqs, I can easily see the equi;ment 'missing' the same freqs too.

If you did this with LP's, I think that the older eqipment would be better - compared with a scope and to a 'live' performance.

I agree with way too many extra buttons on today's gear. I can see the design engineers creating the chips and seeing that if they cross these two points, they can 'do' that.

In turn, this is featured as an 'extra' the chip, and not wanting to 'miss the boat' as they say, they'll add the extra button on the gear.

Question - do the new Mac's hav any chips in them for the actual sound?
