Seriously, I love it.

I have been working in the garage most of the day today. It is completely clean for the very first time ever, no more construction debris! I dropped some hard core coin at Home Depot this evening and as a result have many projects for the days to come, a bummer but necessary. Bought a few work benches, some lights, a new Dremel and a ton of other crap (you're welcome Home Depot!).

A few of the guys that worked on the project in the very begining stopped by today and I gave them a test drive (Blue Man Group and Star Wars Episode II), they were blown away. These guys had a real hard time grasping my vision in the early stages... now they get it!

I am just finishing up installing my PC in the Media Room, when I get it cleaned up a bit I'll fire off a few pics (what a surprise, eh?).

I just swiveled around, took a few steps, pressed a button and grabbed the beer that ka-chunked out of my Skybox.

Life is good my friends, life is good.

Now that you have had a lil time to play with your toys in your new room....
How is the HTM MX-3000 remote working out for you?
Is there anything you don't like about it?
Is it easy to use and very versatile or is there some limitations with it you could do without?

Truth be told... I still don't have it programmed. It will take a serious block of time to pull this off. I am still using the Home Theater Master remote provided with the Sunfire for now.

Suppose I need to get off my butt and take care of that, eh? Maybe this weekend...? I am leaving for South Carolina in the morning and should be back Thursday or Friday. There is still so much to do around the house, construction everywhere!

I just got back from Sears. Bought two work benches and a giant three level tool box... that's what I'm talkin' about! Wait a minute... that's more crap to put together!!!!!!!

I own the HTM 700 (I believe that is what you got with your Sunfire)& 800mx.
I downloaded the program for the 3000mx to check it out. It looks pretty complicated compared to the other HTM remotes.

Well, isn't this a little coincidence for me...looks like I have a new favorite neighbor

I was checking out the Home Theater Store's portfolio earlier this evening, saw a theater I liked, and said, "That's how I want to do it." Then I stumbled into this thread. Oh my lord-- I had no idea that was your theater. I just read the previous seven pages and now I'm totally inspired. Your theater is incredible! Congrats!

How did you like working with Jamie at the Home Theater Store? He's an incredibly nice and sharp guy!

Again, congrats on an awesome environment and thanks for all the wonderful construction photos.

Thanks Brian, I'm hoping Jamie will bail me out on the programming, at least for the structure. I can handle teaching it remote codes!

Nathan... howdy neighbor! Working with Jamie, Dave and Co. has been a blast, what a fun bunch of guys! They have been fantastic all the way through, even with my 50 kazillion changes, upgrades and modifications. That's where you seperate the pros from the rookies. THTS has been first class all the way.

Hopefully the rest of my home will be back in shape soon and I can have any of you ATL peeps over to play that are interested. I am thrilled with my new toys and love to show all of this stuff to people that are into this sort of thing. After having these two rooms in my head for the last couple of years I am still amazed each day to see it all in real life... very cool.

All I need is the rest of the house finished, my promotion to come through at work (I am up for one right now) and I am set!

My goodness, that media room just makes me cry ... like a woman seeing a beautiful sunset.

Just curious Scott, I noticed that your original design for the theater had a couple of tables and a bar ... why did you switch up? Sorry if this was already addressed previously.

Thanks Jay. The bar and table thing... 1) I was worried about space. When I decided to move the entrance to the back of the room it made the design much more functional but it also crowded the space for one of the table/chair set ups. 2) As things developed I very much wanted to stay with the no-clutter look, simple, clean lines to the HT. The Media Room is just the opposite, clutter and fun stuff everywhere. 3) The decision to add the third level of seats (second riser) to the room also reduced the ability to add tables/chairs to the room. I still have a lot of space on either side of the third row but I will probably keep it that way. I may throw a few huge black bean bags back there if I can find some I like, that way kids or overflow adults can throw one where ever they like and have a seat.

Ht design and set up was a flexible, ever evolving process for me. I tried to come up with a base design and just go from there. I am truly happy with the outcome at this point. Of course there are a dozen or so things that I see that could have been done better, but you know how that goes... never satisfied, at least not completely.

I bought a 13"LCD monitor for the Media Room yesterday. Now I just have to come up with a corner shelf to mount the monitor on. I will place it in the corner, just to my left as I sit at my computer. This also makes it in my direct line of sight from the equipment rack so that I do not have to fire up the projector for on screen menus and DVD-A menus. I should have incorporated the ide into the rack to start with... live and learn.

New pics! I installed an LCD monitor in the Media Room, just to the left of the computer. The monitor displays the active source from the rack so that I do not have to fire up the projector every time I need to see an on screen image. This is especially handy when I want to listen to a DVD-A or SACD. It's also cool if there are people watching a movie (or whatever) and I am at the computer, I am able to monitor the action from the Media Room.

I also added some shelving to the Media Room and took a few screen shot pics. I am still learning how to use my new camera so cut me some slack... :huh:

I love the Kodak so far, but I still have a lot to learn about all the manual mode adjustments. That is exactly why I bought it though, my Gateway was lacking in the manual settings department.

Scott, you did an awesome job with the entire project. I hope to have mine near your standards

Just wondering how much you spent on the entire HT room. everything included for the HT room minus the garage/other room.

I am doing my 2000sq ft walkout basement myself, including a 3rd bath and I will be spending 18,000 on equipment and about 14,000 for building the basement out(360sq ft HT room, 170sq ft craftroom, 100sq ft 3rd bath, 200sq ft storage room and about 1000 sq ft of open room for a pool table/bar/everything else)

Thanks Steve... uh, I mean Fred... I mean... oh, nevermind.

I suppose one day I will sit down and break out all the expenditures for the HT and MR portions of the project (rest of house still under way). The total has to fall between 40k and 50k I would imagine, a drop in the bucket to the grand total.

I am sitting here listening to Big Audio Dynamite. I forgot how great some of their recordings are... classic stuff from the 80's/90's. The Sunfire Party mode sounds really good with these discs.

Got my HD signal working today and all I can say is... WOW! The Olympics are freakin awesome and I have been watching the Yankees/Jays game too... incredible. Even the wife was impressed (that's huge).

I'm a happy camper.
