slideshow framerate

I'm making slideshows and the program allows me to choose a framerate - 29.97 vs 30 or 59.97 vs 60? Could someone explain what the differences are and how .03 makes a difference?

Everyone thinks of NTSC (TV video) as showing 30 interlaced frames (60 every-other-line fields) per second.

However, the actual rate is slightly lower than that. Read the slideshow program's manual and see if it has anything to say.

I'm assuming you are using a video editing program and making a video consisting of image files. If you are going to be watching the final product on a standard TV, 29.97.
