Anyone recognize one of the bad guys? I think it was the evil friend of Giles on Buffy. Ethan was it?
Can someone please confirm this?

Yes, that was a very much older-looking Robin Sachs, who played Ethan Rayne in Buffy as well as the second videogame, Chaos Bleeds.

Okay guys, you all know where the Angelriffic thread is, so please use that one if you gotta go nostalgic over Angel...

I give my microwave funny looks when heating up a pizza now.

I just watched this last night ( taped it because I wasn't all that excited about seeing it) and it was a pretty good episode. I'm still not sure what is going on with Sloan and Jack, but all I have to say is.... wow! Jack is getting eveeeel!

Vaughn's story is getting more interesting, but there is so little romantic involvment at this point with Syndey that I think they should just scrap their whole relationship. It isn't even neccessary anymore. Never cared for it in the first place.

Gotta know what's going on next week... they've reeled me in again.

4/13/05 "Pandora"

Wow, my head is swimming, so many relatives, so little time. It was nice to see Izabella Scorupco again, that was a nice bonus (loved the "Consider this the second time the CIA rejected you." line).

I had to do a double-take when they showed Joel Grey as "Sloane" (we have to assume the brother of Arvin Sloane).

They actually mentioned Rambaldi in this episode!

I throughly enjoyed this episode up until they got the end and I kinda had a moment of "What the hell?" but I'll watch it play out before judging the idea of the Sloane clone

They seem to be moving things along towards a good final group of episodes. They're not at 100% but they're getting there.

Here are my observations: If you have been paying very careful attention since last season, you'll notice that something has been off about Sloan. I'm gonna give you a hint. Look at his eyes from last season to present episodes. Notice anything? Now go back (if you taped or tivo'd the episode from tonight) and check out the other Sloan's eyes. Do you see it?

Also, try to remember back to an episode in S3 with Sloan, Sark and Lauren..... big clue there.

This episode had my brain working a bit overtime, but I think I figured something out.

I guess I need to go back and review it again(regarding Sloane), but I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. That's 2 in a row and next week looks very promising too. Seems like they saved all the good stuff for the last third of the season.

If I'm not mistaken the "Sloane Clone" was played by Joel Grey. I'm inclined to think it's a man impersonating/setting up Sloane rather than anything really "weird" at this point.

Yikes...that ending tonight screwed with my mind...but that is precisely what this season has failed to do. The first two (hell, even the third) seasons had plenty of WTF moments, so it seems like this season is starting to pick up...FINALLY!

was that Marvin Sloane? LOL

Not necessarily. I tend to think Jason Seaver has it right. He is more likely a man impersonating Sloane to set him up for some reason or other. I will have to go back and see if the bank records Sydney was reviewing included the first name "Arvin", but I thought they did.

The bank record Sydney was looking at said "A. Sloane" Funny, because I had a side thought that maybe it's a different person.

It'll be Alvin Sloane. [gob]Come on![/gob]
I vote for "Andy Sloane"
Can we refer to him as "Cloane" until further notice?

Last night's episode was the second lowest rated "Alias" of this season. Do the people who suggested that the lowest rated episode was an indication that viewers do not like subtitles and Nadia-centric stories believe that this result means that viewers do not like Rambaldi artifacts and season arcs?

Actually, what it means is that there was no new episode of "Lost", the "American Idol" results show was an hour, and the premiere of the heavily promoted "Revelations" miniseries drew around 50% more viewers than "The West Wing" typically would.

Chiun! Thank you. It was creeping me out and I couldn't place him.

Don't know if anybody has seen this yet, nor do I know how accurate IMDB is, but Joel Grey's tv appearances now include:

"Imposter of Arvin Sloane" in episode: "Another Mister Sloane" (episode # 4.16) 20 April 2005

This episode really helped restore my faith in Alias. The ABC mandated format was really killing my interest in the show, but this one felt like season two in head spinning curves....

Yeah, Vaughan showed incredible willpower in that scene...

Ditto, but man did they waste her as Sabine. Truly, at the end of the episode I kept wsiting for Izabella to appear and then realized it was her under all that blonde hair. She would have been better used as the third Derevko sister, Elena.

The ABC mandated format...

seriously? What was mandated?
That Derevko family was some family.

Actually, one of the things that has been weighing down the recent episodes is Jennifer Garner's injury. Sydney has not been doing her normal quota of bad guy butt-whupping over the last 4-5 episodes.

Funny, I thought if we recognized someone we could mention them.

Watched Wednesdays episode and enjoyed it. Looks like the plot is finally thickening.
They couldn't have gotten anyone that looked more like Sloan than Joel Grey.
Only thing that bothers me is Michael Vartans one expression the whole episode. He always looks like he is constipated.
I'm not too familiar with Joel Grey's work, but I did immediately recogize him at the end probably because he was "the guy that kinda looks like Ron Rifkin" in 2 or 3 episodes of Buffy Season 5.

4/20/05 "Another Mister Sloane"

Sloane needs to get out in the field some more, he's a frikkin' animal when it comes to Rambaldi. He was probably sportin' wood after seeing that big old red golf ball floating in air.

"Arvin Clone, Marvin Sloane" Good stuff.
Wha?????

Good episode. Can't wait for next weeks. Finally it is getting back on track.

By the way, what was on the back of Nadia's jacket in the scene where they entered the wharehouse/building? It looked like wings or something. I didn't tape it so I can't go back and look.

For the first time this entire season, I looked up at the clock around ten minutes before the hour and actually became anxious thinking there was not enough time left to resolve the story. Every other week I've checked the clock three or four times throughout the hour thinking how much longer is this going to take! Nice change... and about time, too!
