Worst DVD covers! - Page 9

Not using the original font or color scheme of the initial marketing campaign is another.

Ughh! Reminds me of the dopey repackaging of MR. DEEDS GOES TO TOWN.

No imagination. And not a particularly interesting expression on Pacino's face even. Apparently it is similar to the original marketing, but still, come on!

I haven't seen this movie, but I'm certainly not going to rent something that looks like Big Momma's House 2!

THIS movie, I might have seen:

or this one, even:

I don't have the computer skills to scan the image, but if anyone goes to www.tvshowsondvd.com today, they will have the special treat of seeing the cover for Britney Spears' poorly-received reality show. If the makers of the DVD are looking for an intimate, badly-done Photoshop feel for the cover, they've succeeded.

Yikes! What a train wreck!

I think it's supposed to resemble cut out photos from a magazine laid out on Britney's doodling pad.

I think it looks more like a home-made porn video.

I never cared for the cover of Ship of Fools. Great movie but the cover doesn't seem right for some reason:

That's in the uncut footage. That and the pot and cocaine.

The Spears POS kinda looks like a ransom note.

Even for a DTV cheapquel, the characters aren't done justice to. The villains look like fan art, Abu looks like he's only a head and the layout sucks.

This is the UK cover for The Rescuers Down Under, which is a slightly edited version of the early 90s video cover art. Only know, it looks as though Barbie painted the sky, and a lot of the clip art has been misplaced, with a rope appearing out of nowhere and Jake not holding on.

Fan art alert! A 10 year old's fan art alert!

Now this is just being silly. It looks a poorly made Photoshop forum banner.

This just looks like another poorly made Photoshop banner. Characters look misplaced on the bottom half of the cover. And those eyes?

Erm...let's just say that it isn't in to the Top 10 cover arts list.

Get the glasses off that horse. And don't get me started on the mouse.

Poopy layout again, and looks like a bad photoshop banner, which is extremely disappointing considering this is a 2 disc DVD set from a major studio.

We just rented this movie, my daughter asks me afterwards, "who are all these kids in the background of the cover? They weren't in the movie."

The deer is the best part. What's up with the airplane?

Here's the original poster for The Deer Hunter.

Okay, I don't know if it's the original, but it's the best. So, why not use it for all releases of the movie?

I just saw on Amazon that they're releasing a new "Legacy Series" edition of the movie. Here's the cover for that one:

Yeah, that's a big improvement. You want to make sure that everyone knows that De Niro's in it.

I did a little searching, and I found these other alternate Deer Hunter covers.

This one is just lazy:

This one makes it looks like a horror movie:

A few more lazy ones:

This one tries to improve on the original by putting a big yellow frame around it:

I don't get it.

This one is the original poster art. The Legacy Series one doesn't seem too bad but I agree that the first one you posted is the best.
Personally, I quite like the Legacy release cover.

Now, the r4 cover - that is awful.
Wow, does that ever misrepresent the film. It looks like the cover for a Delta Force movie. Where's Chuck Norris?

The great mouse detective isn't that bad.... The others thou.... GOOD GOD......

WIll the madness ever end.........

Where is Tommy Kirk? If youre going to put big heads on the cover, at least put the whole family up there!
ROFL... I didn't even catch that......

Too funny...............

I am so tired of the big heads on dvd covers.......... I wish the studio's would freaking wise up and use some of the posters that were used to promote the movie and not make up new ones for the dvd's..........ugggggg

The MASH TV Series Covers are pretty awful.

Cut and paste hell...

I hate when studios put headers on covers like this. One can only hope this isn't the final version.

I didn't know that Madagascar was a number one anything.
Yeah, I'm a little troubled by the Deer Hunter DVD. My 2 tape VHS has the best art. Then I bought the old DVD disc a long time ago and it has the deer head silouhette thing, which is ugly and lazy. This new one looks like it was made with a Xerox machine and some scissors.

Looks like Universal Australia's art department had problems with Photoshop when designing the cover for Friday Night Lights...

Looks like MS Paint strikes again...

I know Garbage Pail Kids The Movie wasn't very good, but the cover is very bad in my opinion:

I don't like the season 6 cover for the Simpsons either. I wish they had of kept the same type of cover as the other seasons.

The cover for the original Assault On Precinct 13 makes me think the movie has Leatherface in it:

I think they should have done away with the picture on the Bill Cosby Himself cover and leave the rest, it looks funny and out of place to me:

I think these covers of The Dead Next Door suck as well:

I think they should have come up with something else for Dead Alive(Braindead):
