Warner Archives is releasing "The Awakening Land" on DVD-R, available for purchase as of today! The 3 disc set is listed at $24.95. WOO-HOO!!

"The Awakening Land" is currently showing on the Warner site with a list price of $19.95.
Current coupon code reward25 will bring the price down to $14.95. There is free shipping on orders over $60. As has been said many times on the Warner Achive threads, the warner site is terrible with price changes and coupons suddenly not working. Be sure to check your order carefully before placing.

I've been waiting for and have wanted this Mini-Series for YEARS. I watched it when it originally aired back in the late 1970's and it's always stuck with me.
It's also my favorite Elizabeth Montgomery non- "Bewitched" role besides "Who's Been Sleeping in My Bed?"

This is going to be a big "no sale" for me, though, as there are 5 minutes cut from Part 1. It's not like it's just a minor cut either, it's a major plot point that's missing. I still have my VHS from when I taped this off from TNT as it aired back in the '90s and the missing scene was in the TNT airing so why was it not included in this "official" release?

An un-cut release is one major "must" for me. I can live with average video quality or maybe a piece of music that's been replaced due to co$t or copyrights but I cannot see any reason why a release has to have chunks of the story missing, certain words "bleeped" out or syndicated versions used as a DVD print.

If I'm going to shell out $25.00 for a DVD-R, the print had better bloody well be complete!

Warner Archives has released THREE more Liz TV movies this month on DVD-R!!cool.gifbanana.gif

They are:

Black Widow Murders: The Blanche Taylor Moore Story

512

Belle Starr

512

Between the Darkness and the Dawn

512

They are each $19.95.

Now if Paramount would just jump on the bandwagon and release The Legend of Lizzie Borden!!

Cool! Thanks for the heads up.   Agree about Lizzie Borden.  Would also love A Case of Rape (Universal, I believe) and Amos.
