DD-EX & DTS-ES encoded movies listing - Page 20

So we just pulled the wire for the speakers in our soon to be finished basement. Anyway, my wife was standing there looking at the extra we pulled on the chance we might upgrade to 7.1 in the future and she said, “Why don’t we just buy two more speakers?” Hell’uva woman huh?

That’s the question. I’ve got a 7.1 receiver just waiting to jump out of the box when the construction is done. Seeing that the release list has fizzled a bit lately, am I just wasting money buying two more surrounds?

Does anyone have a release date for Titanic:SE?

According to the Rumor Mill(dated 5/25) at the Digitals Bits, there looking at 10/18/2005 as the release date.

Wally,

Not really. There's a ton of 5.1 movies that you can enjoy in 7.1 with excellent results. I've only heard of a handful of 5.1 titles that didn't sound well translated to a faux 7.1.

Music in 7.1 is the bomb also!

Troy,

I posted about a year ago refering to Ninja Scroll: 10th Anniversary Special Edition not being on the DTS ES lists. You have it in the DD EX list. But not on the DTS ES Discrete/Matrix lists. The disc is flagged for both EX & ES. And the box is marked accordingly. But it is still missing from the lists.

I've checked many sources and none indicate that The Notebook is EX encoded.

Personally I think it's a misprint on the DVD label.

I'll keep checking.

Is this still being updated?

Okay, I've got a bit of a dumb question for you all that may or may not belong in this thread.

I have a 5.1 DTS set-up, so if I play a 6.1 DTS DVD on it will I "miss" a channel of sound? Or will the 6.1 track re-configure itself into 5.1? Or am I completely barking up the wrong tree?
yes.
just kidding.
actually yes, you wont miss anything itwill default into the rear ss channel.

you hve to have a reciever that encodes center ss chANnel.
