DD-EX & DTS-ES encoded movies listing - Page 15

Troy,

what about Venom? It's not just that the receiver recognizes it as DD EX and DTS ES, the choices in the menu are labeled respectively, so it's no fluke.

Just want to add that Running Man is DTS-ES 6.1 Discrete

Cheers

I meant to add Venom some time ago actually. It kept slipping under my radar, sorry.

I also added a few more Blue Underground DVDs and updated The Running Man.

Thanks to all!

Read over at DVDFILE that Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights (shudder) will be in DD-EX and DTS-ES. Might want to check on that one.

How about the X-Men? I also think The Lion King is in 6.1 DD EX

6.1 DD EX

There's no such thing. DD EX is a 5.1 format, with an additional channel matrixed into the surrounds.

Correct. Also for anyone confused as to which previously released DVD's are in EX, ES Matrix or Discrete, I suggest reading through the thread first since discussion on these have already taken place.
i dont think master an commander belongs on this list... My syetem does not detect either DD EX or DTS 6.1, nor are either one listed on the menus...If the DTS track is 6.1, I think it is matrix only.
I know the back of the box of M & C says DTS 5.1.

Added, thanks Jerry!

Wes,

I'd like to find out more on Cold Mountain as I don't consider Amazon to be very reliable on their technical attributes. For example as Amazon has it listed, it would be very unsual/rare for a mix not to have an EX soundtrack as well as an ES soundtrack as one is derived from the other.

Cold Mountain also wasn't EX/ES in the theaters so I don't think it will be on DVD (my $.02).

Hi Troy,

Has anyone compiled any information on DTS 24/96 discs? I have one such disc (and i have never seen another, btw), the documentary Chronos by Ron Fricke.

Not sure if this title has been mentioned:

The Final Countdown - DTS-ES 6.1 Discrete & DD EX (Region 0 from Blue Underground).
Yes, it is listed on the first page.

Street date updates. Anyone heard any news?

Even the EX releases in theaters has dwindled considerably. The next EX theater release isn't until 05!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone mentioned that Micasa was doing the mix for the Mask which is supposedly due out at the end of the year. Let's hope for an EX/ES track. I wouldn't be at all suprised to see it.

The Thirteen Steps (13 Kaidan)

I have this disc and can confirm its 24/96. Region 2 though. Damn that DTS track is huge! The only other soundtrack is a small DD 2.0 track.

Is it the original Running Man that is in 6.1 Discrete cause i have the special edition and it isn't marked ...Does anyone know??
The SE is in DD-EX, and DTS-ES. It is listed on the cover. If DTS is selected your receiver or preamp should automatically switch to ES Discrete if it has that capability.
I have a Pana SE-100 it has the capabilty ,but it dosen't switch over,it is listed on my copy that it is 5.1 EX and the menu set up lists the same so i am rather lost , it dosent seem to me 6.1 unless i'm missing something...

thanx though....
