Another Blue Underground release: Contamination. Listed as DTS ES (discrete I assume) and DD 5.1 EX.

Thanks. List updated accordingly.

Just read this on DVDFile.com:
Quote:
They're back from the grave and ready to party. At long last for George Romero fans, Anchor Bay Entertainment will release the highly anticipated two-disc collector's edition of the capper in Romero's Dead trilogy, Day of the Dead. Loaded with extras, goodies include a new 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital Surround EX and DTS ES 6.1 soundtracks...
Just so's ya know.

Jesse,

I saw that too, but there was no release date.. hmm. Day of the Dead has been in the "Coming Soon" section for a while. I checked Anchor Bay's website and they didn't have anything listed as well.

I'll update the list once a release date is finalized.

Well, it looks like they've updated the page, Troy. It now reads that DotD will be out August 19th. Woohoo!

Final Destination 2 added and the release date for Day of the Dead.

Troy,

you may want to remove Day of the Dead from the "Planned Releases" now that the date has been announced. Also, Terminator 2: Extreme Edition should probably be added to the list for completeness's sake.

Done!

Thanks much.

Also added Standing in the Shadows of Motown (according to DVDFile.com).

According to the boxart at http://dvdmedia.ign.com/dvd/image/lotr_ttt_boxback.jpg it looks like The Two Towers DVD will be in DDEX. I know this was a foregone conclusion, but ya know, it's for completeness.

Just stumbled on another DTS ES discrete DVD-A disc yesterday at Circuit City,
Shedaisy "The Whole Shebang".

From the DTS link above:
SheDAISY - THE WHOLE SHEBANG
Release Date 4/08/03 (DVD-Audio)
· Exclusive surround re-mixes in DVD-Audio 5.1 & DTS-ES (6.1)
· Also includes an on-screen photo gallery and synchronized lyrics

Just looking at the list, This is the first DVD-A with 6.1, Cool!

Is there a list of DVds that were re=releaed in DTS.

Such as Xmen 1.5 and Lord of the rings EXtended edition.

I would like to replace my DD with DTS but dont know where to start.

Is X-men DVD EX encoded?
So is T2 UE not an EX or DTS-ES DVD? I can't remember. Is the EE going to be in ES OR EX?
The T2 UE is both EX and ES (Matrix). The T2 EE will be EX only (no DTS).

That's the most acronyms I've ever used in a post.

T2: UE is DD-EX and dts-ES Matrix, which are essentially the same thing speaker-wise (i.e. the surround rear channel is derived from the surround signal). T2: EE is (from what I can remember) DD-EX only, with the WMP9 "High Definition" version using Microsoft's own WM 5.1 format.

Is X-men DVD EX encoded?

Nope. Neither the first version or the newer 1.5 version are EX or ES encoded.

What about The Pianist?

Canadian vs US versions...

I hear the US version will carry a dts es track...but not so for the Canadian version...

Can anyone shed any more light on this?
DTS also states these discs are DTS ES 6.1! They are DVD-A disc just like Shedaisy!

Sheila Nicholls: "Wake"

Studio Voodoo: "Studio Voodoo"

Insane Clown Posse: "THE WRAITH: SHANGRI-LA"

Perhaps these new DVD-A disc's deserve their own category on your list seeing how they are not DTS "CD's".

Hollow Man: Superbit Deluxe

It has EX just like the original.

Nothing that I've seen shows this. Is this in another region?

Added Sheila Nicholls: Wake and Insane Clown Posse: THE WRAITH: SHANGRI-LA to the DTS-ES Discrete CDs section. Studio Voodoo was already listed.

Thanks!

I'm stilling checking on The Pianist....

How about dts 96/24 titles get a section here? They're a rare current advance surround format just like the others.
I think Venom (Blue Undergoround) needs to be added, DVDSoon gives a release date of 2003-08-05

Rob,

Feel free to start one up. I glanced at the DTS site and there is only one (1) title with this and it's a music video (Queen).

I sent an email to Blue Underground to verify Venom. I'll update accordingly.
