Who wants a recipe of ramen noodles and pork? It's a favorite with my friends.

Gimme. Ramen is pretty much all I eat since I'm coming to the end of the school year... heheheh.

I going to a lecture being held by Homestar Runner (www.homestarrunner.com) at my school today. EVERYBODY TO THE LIMIT!!

Otherwise tonight we're going to see The Girl Next Door which my arch-nemesis Matthew Chmiel has dubbed as "the best film of the year".

I watched the first 2 discs of Maison Ikkoku last night (thanks Stacey! ), GREAT stuff. Am I the only one who sees all the stuff Love Hina stole from this show along with MUCH better writing?

I mean, for godsakes, it's practically the same damn show with the lovely Kyoko-chan in the role of manager instead of the ronin... Keitaro in Love Hina or Godai in Ikkoku

Oh so tempting... boy, this is one codependent bunch of folks right here, ain't it? Hehe.

Huh... that's true. I never would have thought about that. Of course, I tend to have a hard time not thinking of Godai as a sightly more respectable Ataru.

Speaking of recipes, I see Excel 3 has Menchi Recipes

Who was the one who had both seasons of The Big O? Would that person mind pming me I have some questions about the second season plotline. Thanks in advance.

I picked up Angelic Layer 2-5 the other day and am loving this show. I have become just another CLAMP Wh0r3... except for CCS which is just too damned expensive.

Michael- the second season of Big O isn't out yet, at least not in R1 it isn't.

I just picked up the old Bubblegum Crisis 2032 Megaseries box for like $30. I'm pretty sure this was one of the first anime releases on R1 DVD.

Animeigo appeared to do a decent job on with the English dub. Interestingly, Katey Sagal (Married w/Children, Futurama, 8 Simple Rules) is one of the actors, although under a different name. Also, they used The Replicants (a rather well known '80s cover band) to do the English music.

If you can find this one for cheap, pick it up, it's well worth it. Old series, yes, but good story drives it.

I also picked up the MTV Spider-Man series, and thought it was pretty good. It's cell shaded, and seems heavily anime influenced. It's a really nice anamorphic DVD. It has very high production value, although the voice acting could have been better. Russian villians with no accents? Come on...

Is it true Big O Season 2 was made because us US people liked it so much?

(I have never seen a whole episode... Reminds me of Batman in animation Style)

Not much anime news for for me today. I spent the majority of today helping my friend move into his new house. However, I did manage to rewatch NewType November 2003, the Media Blasters Series Sampler, and NewType December 2003, which fulfilled that part of the HTF Anime Challenge 2K4.

Finished off Magic-user's Club last night. A rather cute series, tho I was a bit turned off by the pressing of the reset button on the relationships. I mean, I like to see growth in relationships, and to see it all kinda go by the wayside in the last few minutes is just not right.

Geneon and Sailor Moon (Saturday, April 10th, 2004 @ 01:28 PM EST): The licenses are not renewable. The rights to the movie will expire at the end of the year, and it will not be possible for them to be renewed.
Guess I better finally pick up the movies boxset. Sounds like Clover is totally pulling Sailor Moon from the US market after the rest of the licenses expire (S, Super S, movies).

I got a chance to watch a couple of disks yesterday. I have to agree with Bryan that Last Exile vol. 3 was quite good. We get to find out some interesting new developments, and there was quite a bit of action. I also watched TeXhnolyze vol. 1. The whole first episode was a WTF? moment, but it actually started making sense towards the third and fourth episodes. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this one.

How in the name of the immortal gods can Homestarrunner give a lecture?
Yes, BGC was AnimEigo's first DVD [also second LaserDisc, after the subpar Miyu 1-disc edition] release, and it had real encoding problems at first, besides being basically the LD with DVD rather than burned subtitles and the dub track. And people say I'm crazy for buying LD! Of course, Priss' band is called the Replicants [a pointless little Blade Runner reference], and I'm not quite sure if the band credited in English as The Replicants is the one you think it is.
Just for more confusion, due to contractual issues, the Japanese voice actress for Priss in Bubblegum Crash was not Oomori Kinuko but Tachikawa Ryoko.
I have just finished the first AnimEigo Kimagure Orange Road TV box [and with the pace of schoolwork picking up toward the end of the year, am not certain when I will finish the second poor me], and I have to say that the secand ["Fire Love"] closing theme is great, wonderfully inventive in terms of rhythm. Does anybody here have it in stereo? I want to get your opinion. I may spring sometime for the Japanese CDV...
Didn't ADV [hiss, spit] license DigiCharat [and I think they called it DigiCarrot]? I know I heard some kind of announcement of this.

Synch-Point = DigiCharat TV (16 episodes)
ADV = Panyo Panyo DigiCharat (48 episodes)
Bandai = DigiCharat Nyo! (102 episodes and still going)

They're all of the shorter 12-minute variety, IIRC... I know that Nyo! is because I love that freakin' show It's definately my favorite

Speaking of Brocolli, Bandai restated that they have Galaxy Angel seasons 1 and 2, but have no yet licensed season 3 (although I'm sure they will).

They talked about how they make money (t-shirts!), how long it takes to make a Strongbad Email cartoon (3 days w/ 4 people on staff), and they showed the newest thing they are working on.... live-action puppet Homestar Runner segments (which were hilarious). The guy who does the voices for the show was also answering questions as characters (Homestar, Strongbad, Strongsad, Coach Z etc...)

They're also coming out with a DVD with all the Strongbad Emails... sweet

Hope you're feeling better. I'm sure the anime helped . No new anime for me this week. I blew my allowance on UT 2K4 and KOTOR (PC). Now to find some time to catch up on my computer gaming .

Speak of the devil! "Excel Saga: The Imperfect Collection" comes out July 6. All six discs, in a box, for only $89.98!Woe is me for having bought them all individually...
Ben:

Think about it this way: you didn't have to wait. Plus, the box fanatics out there sometimes forget that it's the people who buy the individual disks which allows for there to be boxed sets in the first place (usually).

All:

I just watched one disk tonight, Mahoromatic - Something More Beautiful vol. 1.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I TOLD 'YA SO!!!!

Enough bragging from me. But I definitely will pick this set up sometime. I thought that the first few episodes were funny as hell. However, that doesn't mean that it is funnier than Family Guy or The Simpsons!
