Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place DVD

Have they decided on a release date yet?
Nope, but I still have baited breath...
Whenever this comes out I'll get it. I liked this show on ABC and never got to see the first season.

Are we really all that certain that there's a release planned? I was looking at the transcript of the Fox chat where the show was mentioned, and I'm not so sure. Peter Staddon's answer to the question about the show was something like "we're working on Two Guys & a Girl, I'm not familiar with 'Pizza Place'".

David's TVShowsOnDVD news-item took that to mean that they were using the shorter title. But, I wonder if Staddon thought that the question was about the Robert Downey Jr. movie "Two Girls & a Guy", and that's what he was giving the thumbs-up for.

Definitely possible but Mr Staddon might not be familiar with the 'Pizza Place' at the end of the title as it was cut from the official title after one season.

Damn... I hope not. I need me some of that show
post #7 of 42
The title of the show changed officially to "Two Guys and a Girl" in the later seasons, so that was probably what he was thinking of, not the original longer title.
Well it's already April 2004 and no announcement we still have the rest of the year but is anyone worried yet? Peter said in the last chat it would coming out in the first half of 2004.
I'll buy it on release date. Part of me thought that he was saying that with tongue planted in cheak, as sort of a joke. He might not be familiar with the longer title but I am pretty sure he was talking about the TV show at least I hope so.

I love this show and will buy all seasons.
I hope it's true and not a rerelease of "Two Girls and A Guy" (unless there's some Heather Graham on Natasha Wagner sex.)
I'm surprised noone's bumped this thread yet.

We now have an official answer about this. Peter DID get this confused with a movie. You can read about it here.

It's hard to blame him, though. I can't imagine how he keeps all that stuff in his head. Heck, I can't even figure out how so many things seem to be stuck in my own craw, to be spat out either here at HTF or over at TSoD when the occassion warrants. I've made a few mix-ups along the way, and I can't blame him for making one, either. It's hardly a stretch.
As badly as I want this show, I don't blame him for confusing it with a movie...he has a lot on his plate.

I guess I'll have to go back to begging for this release though, instead of waiting for it.

They really should put this show out.
But they should call it Two Guys A Girl and a Pizza Place for the first and I think second season release if it ever did come out and restore the original opening. The series airs on O or We or Lifetime for some reason and they use the last opening for the series rather than the one used originally, also they use the last name dropping hat wonderful Pizza Place...
I didn't watch all of this show when it was on, but I remember it was pretty good when I saw it. I eat at the "pizza place" that the show is based on all the time and they have an article framed on the wall talking about the show. The creator used to be a delivery guy there.

I would agree, but there are several examples of where this didn't happen. The most recent one is "Ellen", which A&E is releasing soon on DVD. The 1st Season ought to be called "These Friends of Mine", but they aren't even putting that title on the outer box (except maybe in some copy on the back). Nope, that one has "Ellen" written all over it.

The decision is usually made based on the answer to this question: "Which name will consumers recognize, and helps us make the sale?"
While I dont miss the 2 guys and a girl, I do miss the pizza place.

Well, the Pizza Place avoids confusion with that film and it has a certain kitsch value. People who watched the show will remember the Pizza Place, I hate that they removed it.
I'd buy it with either title, but I think more people remember that Pizza Place was in the title, than would remember that season 1 of Ellen was called "These friends of mine."

kind of thing here again

Tim, I'm sure Peter Staddon, the VP at Fox (the company you are ripping off) would be really interested in the fact that you're selling pirated copies of his property.

P.S. Welcome to the forum, you must be new here.

Wow... Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place DVD...

I almost thought it was really coming out, and I was hoping that the ill-fated Nathan Lane show "Encore Encore" might be close behind - perhaps they could just package that show with the other cancelled Lane show "Charlie Lawrence" which I never even got to see...

Now having that, and "The Job" on DVD would make me a happy man. 2 Guys, A Girl, and a PIzza Place... I'd have to pass on though. :-)

What's the holdup on this? I'm hoping we'll see this on DVD in 2007.

Re: Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place DVD

Would love to see this show make it to DVD, too. LOVED Traylor Howard on that show...also thought Richard Ruccolo and Ryan Reynolds were hilarious as ``Pete'' and ``Berg.'' Come on ABC, Buena Vista, Fox, whomever owns this show...bring it out! We'll buy it!

Re: Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place DVD

I can't believe it has been ten years....

I noticed the other day that Amazon.com has a placeholder for this. No hint of a future release, but I signed up regardless. The number of people who signed up for "Newhart" prompted Amazon to let Fox know of the demand, which resulted in the first season to finally be released earlier this year. Who knows, "Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place" could be next (though I do hope they also release the rest of "Newhart" uncut as well). We're also currently #12 on TVShowsOnDVD.com.

I'm dying to see the original (and music intact) ABC broadcasts again.

Whatever happened to Peter Staddon?

Perhaps he got confused on the way to work one day and showed up at Sbarro's instead.

Well... I just signed up as well. Don't know what the chances are... but maybe we will get lucky.

Peter, if you're still at Fox and reading this forum... I wanted to apologize for confusing you back in 2004 when I asked if "Two Guys, a Girl, and Pizza Place" was in the foreseeable future. Who knew that I timed the question with a re-packaging of "Two Girls and a Guy"?

Ron, is there any chance of getting another chat with them? I would love the opportunity to ask Mr. Staddon again about this title (if he's still at Fox).

If I remember correctly, Peter was responsible for pushing for a release of "The Lone Gunmen" (which included all of the original music). So thank you very much for that. It would be great to put this next to it on my shelf. This is another big one for me like CBS's recent first season release of "Early Edition".

Sorry to hear that he's no longer with Fox. (Somewhere in the back of mind I knew that when I was writing my post above, but I figured I would bring up Rob's question anyway.) I knew you would be the first one to reply. Thanks Gord. Hopefully, someone currently at Fox is taking notes on this thread. The demand is too high for a complete and uncut "Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place".
