Paid $51 from amazon. Tragically, I saw this on ebay for $45. Too late to cancel. This almost never happens since I am usually a researching fool. Now I just feel like a fool period.

Well, still a good deal since these SRP for $59.95!
Well, these showed up without any floaters (at least none that were audible). So the extra $6 was well spent!

Re: Whats the last TV DVD you bought

nikki, I see you are from England. I have ordered several dvds from England to the US and play them on my region free dvd player. That was the only way to get Bionic Woman and Fall Guy, season 2.

New Adventures of He-man. Vol 1 & 2.

Just got to get that fun cheesy He-man movie and I'll be all set. Guess I'll have to start buying those vintage toys. hahaha!

Also got..

Iron King-Complete series
Hero High-Complete series

These will go out of print so I figured "why not?!"

Re: Whats the last TV DVD you bought

Just pre-ordered PEYTON PLACE - Part 1. Not only is it a historic show as the first American primetime soap opera, it also seems to focus on coherent characterization rather than outrageous plot twists, much like my beloved KNOTS LANDING. And that cast list is just too impressive to ignore. Can't wait to finally see it!

I was a huge fan of He-Man as a kid but for the life of me, I don't remember "The New Adventures" at all. This past year though I did pick up all 4 volumes of the original series, the "Secret of the Sword" movie and the Dolph Lundgren film. Watching the movie as an adult......the word cheesy doesn't even cut it. lol But still, always fun to relive a childhood memory.

I was more a fan of Thundar because I kind of saw through the "cartoon to sell kids toys" aspect of He-man. But somehow I'm able to put that aside and really enjoy it quite a lot as an adult. The characters are a lot of fun to watch and I particularly enjoy the sometime heavy handedness of the "Lesson of the episode" bits at the end. That last one I watched mentioned Practical jokes and how dangerous they could be, "you could lose a finger or an eye!!" the character says. And I thought out loud "Yeah, those kids and their firecrackers and sharp sticks!!!" The old school retro thing is real strong with the show. It's very enjoyable.

I think the 90s version was passed over by many. Some have even said it is overrated. Clips on youtube seem to back that up. It departs a bit from the original and I think that threw off long time fans.

Secret of the Sword is the film made up of several She-ra episodes right...? I remember reading about it. Since I bought that series too I figured I didn't need it.

I remember the cheesiness of the live action film. Reminded me of Flash Gordon. Most likely I'll pick up both of those, the Speed Racer film and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy all at the same time. I still need the old TV series of Hitchhiker's. Looking forward to all of this!!

Awesome. Have you picked up Super Robot Red Baron?
That's another really good Japanese giant robo show.

I recently bought:

-Mr. Belvedere

-The Starlost(I love it)

-Charles in Charge season 4. How old was Nicole Eggert by season 4? Practically every episode she's prancing around in short shorts, or nighties. The producers of this show certainly wanted the male viewership to maintain steady didn't they?

On my list! I'm waiting for a price drop. It's still kind of high. But if it starts to go oop I'll be all over it. Looks real fun. I'm hoping the quality of the transfers on these are better than BCI's Ultraman, which I was disappointed in. I'm hoping a new release of that is in the future. Still better than crummy bootlegs.

Good deal. I was considering this one. I've gone from a old school cartoon kick to a old school live action sci-fi kick. I blame Doctor Who and The Tomorrow People. Starlost always comes up as an alternate in the Tomorrow People listing. I was also thinking about getting Timeslip. Btw, have you seen the 80s show Voyagers? Helps if you grew up with it...but it's awfully good.

I wish they'd give Blakes 7 an official release here in the states. I'm loving all this cheesy sci-fi! Who needs flashy cgi?! Not me!!

Yea. Todays SciFi relies too much on CGI. I love the older SciFi shows too.

Timeslip sounds interesting. Voyagers is on my "to buy" list. Probably get that one in my next batch of goodies

Still waiting for Logan's Run tv series on dvd, but that's from WB so I'll probably never see it.

I'll be grabbing Timeslip and Starlost within a month. I think when I can sit and enjoy Tomorrow People so much then these others will be easy.

Logan's run would be great. And Westworld too while they're at it! At least we got Planet of the Apes TV show. I really liked it too!

I've been watching Doctor Who from the beginning and it's amazing how great it is right out of the gate. Much like Twilight zone and Outer Limits. I resist the urge to laugh at the cheesiness because the stories are often so creative it's like the Mona Lisa wearing a torn dress she got from the Salvation Army store. You just gotta look passed that fact and enjoy the beauty!

Logan's Run is pretty much the exact concept of POTA(even down to it's short lived run). Two people on the run from a bad guy across a post apocalyptic future earth(California). Both series have a sidekick character to help them better understand the world. POTA it's Galen, and Logan's Run it's an Android(I forgot his name). Helping the people they meet along the way, and carrying on.

Great stuff.

I only remember them bringing back the robot snake from the first film...seems like it was in a barn or something. That snake was one of the best scenes from the movie (that and the chase through the underground by the gunfighter, hell, that's nightmare material!!)

It would be great to get these.

BIG DAY today with the Car Dealers! One of them was giving away $10 Targhee Cards, so I got one from them. Then I got word that a nearby Dealer was giving away Wally Cards, so I went over there and they had a bin in which you would reach in and pick up one card, which was to be between $5.00 to $500.00. I reached in and got one for FIFTY BUCKS!

I just ordered Rhoda, season 1 from an Amazon seller for $22.97 shipped. Brand new but had a cut in the bar code. So what? I have gotten several sets cheaply that way. Who cares if there is a cut in the bar code? Not me.

Good deal! $50 card. Glad to know those are actually in there. I only ever get $5.

Legend of Cougar Canyon isn't too bad. The animal violence is a bit much though since I read they tied some animals down. So it's not quite like Wild Kingdom.

I'd be interested in knowing if that serial killers thing is any good. I only ever watch that kind of stuff around October since it gives me the willies for a week. Last year I picked up the "Masters of Murder" collection for October and it has biopics on Dahmer, Bundy, Gein and Gacy. They're cheap and slimy but good for the most part. Gacy is the worst made one. Gein needed a bit more punch since so many other things have been done on that material. The others aren't badly made at all. Dahmer is endlessly disturbing.

Re: Whats the last TV DVD you bought

I watched the first episode of America's Serial Killers Friday evening. (The first episode actually was about a BRITISH Serial Murderer, mainly Jack The Ripper) It was SPOOKY! I think I'll save the remaining Episodes for October, as they are more appropiate there!
