maybe she was doing a wire stunt and fell and landed on her neck on a trampoline.
OH MY GOD!
Tramapaline! Trambapoline!

I think the real question that needs to be asked here is "When is 'The Head' going to be out on DVD?"

Aeon Flux

Did anyone watch this anime/animated series on liquid tv years ago...??

I'm personally looking forward to the movie, though i have to wonder how they're going to negotiate the whole Aeon dying at the end of every episode problem.
I saw a few pictures of the fully clothed actress playing Aeon. Quite a change, to take the essentially naked Aeon and make her wear clothes. Not sure what to expect from the film, that's for sure.

Here's the official site for the movie:

I'm not sure what the film is going to turn out to be either.

I kinda figured that Chung's anorexic characters in almost fetish outfits weren't going to be in this film as well. I just hope that they don't take all the sex out of it. It seems a big part of his world.

Taking out the look, tho, what is there?

Well I've been to the site my friends, and there appears to be a novel story there. I'm interested.

There is a walled city in this new vision, and though it isn't quite the version of Bregna and Monica that was in the series, it looks interesting - utopian but terrifying - nonetheless.

Here's a tip: on the official site, clicking on TIMELINE does not work anywhere except on the main "HOME" page (where the menu items appear to be floating bubbles). Elsewhere it is a dead link. So go to the floating bubbles page, click on TIMELINE, and be impressed.

Might this turn out to be as interesting as Blade Runner? Here's hoping.

I'm going to guess that...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Since the timeline seems to suggest that Trevor Goodchild is over 300 years old and still looks young, that the tendency of citizens to dissapear may have to do with an elite part of the leadership pulling a cannibalistic Soylent Green of some kind to remain immortal...

I will further hazard that Aeon Flux might not be that old, so she therefore may be both the child of and the eventual lover of Goodchild - who as we all recall from the anime was a really sick f'k. Makes sense as a "No Luke, I am your father!" type of plot development.

I;m getting a Logan's Run meets Solylent Green meets Orwell's 1984 vibe off this thing. Could be good!

Some pics I found.

For those who were expecting the costume to be faithful to the animated series, you will be pretty disappointed.

The offiicial Aeon web site does a great job of making this look very entertaining. It may very well end up that the less you know about animated Aeon, the better off you will be, however.

I'll go see it, for sure.

I don't know why everyone's so upset about the costume -- it would take ROLLS AND ROLLS of doublesided tape for Charlize to be able to stay in the original costume for Aeon Flux.

I'm just hoping that the storyline is faithful to the animated series -- i'm seriously curious about how they're going to negotiate the fact that she died at the end of every episode.

Anyway -- the timeline feature is definately intriguing.

Looking forward to getting a trailer sooner or later.

I used to watch this all the time, it was pretty wierd alright, but facinating as well. The only parts I found disturbing were the many big, wet, long tongue scenes, that show was obsessed with licking!

That might look alright with Charliez doing it though.
Yeah, there were most definately some very very raunchy things going on in the cartoon.

i like charlize theron. but not as aeon flux. it does not match for me. i don't see it or buy it.

just like jessica alba as invisible girl. i like her. but it is a poor casting choice.

i buy angelina jolie as aeon flux.
i buy a younger sigourney weaver as aeon flux.
i buy rosario dawson as aeon flux.

but not charlize theron.
just looked at the pix. she is just too cute in the face. not hard enough.

i really don't buy it now.

Carrie Ann Moss in the Matrix strongly reminded me of Aeon Flux

New stills on Jo Blo -- I like the one of her on the ground -- http://www.joblo.com/index.php?id=7442

Rumor has it we might get a the teaser next friday, so i'm keeping my eyes open. I don't want to pass judgement until after then.

I think this is one of those movies where it might possibly be decent to the general public but there's no way it can possibly please fans of the show. Even aside from the visual aspect of it, I just can't see the story being anywhere near as "out there" as most of the tv episodes were.

To be honest, I don't think you can make a faithful adaptation to live action, and have it be economically viable.

One thing I expect is that it probably won't resemble the animated series all that much.

I'm definatley interested. Big fan of the original animated series, but I don't expect the film to be anything like it. CT may not fit the character at all, but I'm interested to see what she'll do with the character. It could be really good.
Well, it may be useful to compare the introduction on the main site to the animated series, it seems as though they're definately trying to stay true to the atmosphere.

Aeon Flux featurette

I'm still iffy on the costume. Hopefully a teaser or full trailer will allay my fears.

Charlize looks damn good and boy is she limber!

Man, you took the words right out of my mouth

Full trailer is up at Apple's site.

Full Trailer for Aeon Flux

This looks like a slick action thriller. I'll see it as a respite between all the Oscar contenders this fall.

Charlize looks damn good, especially about 45 seconds into the trailer. You'll know it when you see it.

Black hair, long blonde hair, short blonde hair, she looks beautiful no matter what (Monster being the exception of course.)

I don't know, it looks so bright and cheery, like Demolition Man. The animated version was so hard, raw and edgy. I don't mind her look, but I think you have to make the world grittier than the future world in the Bill and Ted films.

The trailer just made me less interested, except perhaps in the area of stalking Charleze Theron of course.

The city is supposed to look bright & cheery because the plot is about the costs associated with making it so bright & cheery.

How do you pronounce aeon?
Dustin, the official pronounciation is 'EE-on'(as opposed to 'AY-on').
The trailer definitely perked my interest in the movie. Those killer blades of grass and Aeon's gadgets were v. cool, but what has happened to Trevor Goodchild? The guy referenced in the trailer looks nothing like him.
I think one of the main reasons the animated series did so well is how Aeon was horribly killed and mysteriously resurrected in the next episode. This would make a very interesting twist for the movie where she experiences several death scenes, but somehow she returns to life. This would be explained at the end. That would be cool!

Y'know, I keep seeing this repeated all over the internet. This was only the case in the shorts, not the full blown regular TV series. Same with comments about her never speaking.

Sounds almost like... cloning...
