In The Cut Unrated

Has anyone seen this yet? I just rented it,and I have a feeling that the "BJ" scene will leave some of you speechless.
The movie itself was quiet unplausable,as far as the story goes, yet it was somewhat predictable.I liked some of the cinematography, like some part of the picture was out of focus then it clears up,as the director wanted us to see it in a certain way.Ryan's performance was also good, she shown the she has a different side other then the ususal "Sleepless In Seatle" romantic comedy "average girl",and I'm not talking about the nudity and sex scenes either.
Overall however I was glad I only rented it since it's not worth a repeat viewing from me,not for a long time.

Why would that scene leave us speechless? Surely we don't actually see Meg perform real oral sex??

How did you rent it? The movie isn't supposed to be sold or rented until Feb 10, 2004.

there's a store a couple towns over that breaks street dates for everything....not too common, but it happens more than you think. plus i work at blockbuster so i can rent stuff as soon as we get it in.

There is more frontal nudity in the unrated version as well as this 'penis shot' everyone is going crazy over. I don't think the added footage adds anymore than half a minute of scenes. Word is from the director the penis isn't real - it's fake but supposed to look real. I'll have a full review up of the uncut version in a day or so.

I have never seen any video stores in my area break street date, but I have seen places like ShopKo break street date (like putting out Solaris out 4 days before it was supposed to be released).

Saw this in the theater when it came out. If the extra scenes are just as described, then no thanks. Seeing a man's penis in a movie is not exciting to me. I'm not that type of guy.

I agree it wasn't "exiting",but it was unseen in a major MP from a major studio, that has nothing to do with porn. Also I'm not sure why would the director go into the trouble to use "prosthetics" when she could use an amateur or even "pro"[porn actors] couple for the shot.[we never see the woman's face]
Yes the store I rent from breaks the street date, routinly.

What is the difference between the 2 cuts?

Can someone say in spoiler tags. I dont rent, but might be willing to drop $18 for frontal Meg

Meg Ryan is hot for an older woman....

My favorite line of hers is in 'Hurlyburly' (she plays a hooker) when she goes to leave the house with what's his name - they go to drive somewhere and she goes "How about Jack In The Box?...I love Jack In The Box"

my favorite meg ryan scene is in innerspace, and it doesn't really have any dialogue. it's when martin short has manipulated his face to look like "the cowboy", and they're at the meeting with the two bad guys, when he freaks out and starts losing it, all sorts of special effects shots of his face changing, intercut with reaction shots from the actors, and when it's over, therer's a shot of meg looking at him, her face all scrunched up in a puzzled look, and she just goes, "huuuuhhhhhh"

so adorably cute.

If my memory serves me right saw a movie years back, can't
recall the title but certainly remember the stars - Susan
Saradon & Judge Reinhold. It contains a full frontal shot of
Judge's you know what in one scene. At that time I was like
wow that's bold coz most movies containing nudity of only
the female cast full frontal or not.

According to IMDB, those two never worked in the same film...

Why? Was the sight of a real penis too horrifying for audiences to accept?

Sounds like you're thinking of Zandalee which starred Reinhold and Nicolas Cage (slumming before Leaving Las Vegas) as old pals. Erika Anderson, who had previously appeared in an Elm Street film, was the girl who came between them.

Actually, I would guess that they simply didn't want to have to make the actress in question suck a real schlong. Kind of a different issue there - much easier to get someone who'll fellate a dildo than the Real Thing on camera...

So Meg actually sucks on it in this movie? Jeez...

Even an image of Ryan sucking a fake one which is supposed to pass for real would move this into XXX territory. I know Meg's career has taken a real dive, but I can't believe she'd lower herself that far (just yet, anyway).

No, she surreptitiously watches another woman doing it.

"Why? Was the sight of a real penis too horrifying for audiences to accept?"

I cant believe people even say this anymore - I can probally name about 50 movies made in the past 10 years with frontal male nudity - and probally 5 more made in the past 3 years showing boners.

People are always talking about double standards and I dont think it exists anymore.

Watched the thing last night. Was not impressed with anything other than the photography, and that got old after a while. I spent the first 3/4 of the flick wondering if it was a manufactured "multiple personality" schlock, and the last quarter knowing it was just schlock.

Ya right Jon it was Zandalee. Try watching Caligula unrated
version fellas its penis galore, not that I liked it but
it's a more of a hardcore adult movie with well known stars
in it not those sleazy kind.

Anyway its kind of funny. Usually audience will puke at the
sight of the male organ but enjoy the sight of the female
ones, rather unfair.

Just got In The Cut unrated version will post some comments
after watching it if any.
