Awwwwww. Put it back in.

Mike, be careful. Remember the last time you posted a bucket....

But thanks for this week's roundup.

I've been waiting months for the roundup with the Star Wars DVDs.....just so I could say "ho hum, nothing for me this week."

Uh, yeah! That's the ticket!

Thoughtful people around here always remarked that, when the Star Wars DVDs were released, people would still find something to complain about. Boy were they right.

$36.99 at Fry's is almost as cheap as the $10 each I paid for the "faces" LD copies. And much more convenient. Plus you get to listen to Darth Vader in French if you want....

Hey, Dennis! Pop quiz!

I saw a "Spirit of America" performance tonight in Albany featuring the Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps, the US Army Drill Team, and the US Army Band (Pershing's own). It was truly incredible and inspiring.

Do you know what rifle the drill team exclusively uses during its performances?

Somehow I bet you do!
I have no idea what kind of rifle they use. But if I had to guess, they would be using Model 1903 Springfields. These have been converted in vast quantity to non-operational "drill team" rifles.

(LATER) I guessed right: http://www.mdw.army.mil/OLDGUARD/Spe...rill_Team2.htm

Then again there are "imitation" Model 1903 Springfields which may be used by drill teams. www.odcmp.org/503/daisy_drill.asp

My 1903 Springfield is a real one. Shoots real fine.

You are correct, sir! Knew you would be.

It was announced several times that they were modified 1903 Springfields "with bayonets attached". Nice bright shiny--maybe chrome(?)--bayonets.

The drill team was incredible.

I don't yet have a bayonet for my M1903 Springfield. Actually the bayonets I have for my M1 Garands are not the correct vintage: they are mark 5 bayonets from the Korean War era. Somehow correct bayonets for the M1903 are rare. I doubt they chrome plate them. Maybe nickel-plate at best. They are probably just burnished steel.

"I have read a firey Gospel writ with burnished rows of steel...."

I love my board. An 8" wide deck sits atop 8" Independent trucks with some 70mm Kryptonics (big and soft). Makes for an awesomely smooth ride.
Wait, 70mm? this is a longboard, right?

Try some 82mm Cherry Bombs, butter man. Smooth as butter.

Yo! Youse California guys sure do talk about strange stuff.

I'm thinking about oiling my snow shovel and cleaning out my gutters.
Cleaned out my rain gutters last weekend. I've got excellent flowage now.

A long board indeed Zen. Not quite up to funding another set of wheels but I'll keep those in mind for the future. I did want to keep my board swiming pool friendly and those 82s might be a bit too big.
What's a "snow shovel"?

I'd rather have a 88mm than your 70mm.

I'd have sworn you'd prefer a 90.
