I was reading through the December 2003 issue of DVD Etc, and noticed several models listed in the "DVD Player Buyer's Guide" that don't exist. Presumably, these models are about to be released, perhaps at CES 2004 next week. Is this the case? (or are we not supposed to know about these models yet?)

Good eye Chris for noticing that.
I hope they do a review of the Denon 5900 soon.

Well, now in the Jan/Feb 2004 issue, there's another DVD players guide, listing many of the same non-existent players with similar but slightly different details given. While there are others, the ones that I'm most curious about are the "Halo by Parasound" models listed. Parasound does not sell DVD players, although they announced two models two years ago back at CES 2002, but then stopped plans to go to production and never made them.
I'm still curious, are these various listed non-existent models like Parasound new players that are about to come out? (they did not show up at CES 2004 last week) Or is the information based on old data, on players that were never produced?

Hi Guys,
Just back from CES/Vegas and a mad week of shipping the March issue--FULL of DVD PLAYERS you'll never own! (Just kidding) I've asked Dennis Barker to check out this thread so that he can help you out. He compiles the Buyer's Guides based on what manufacturers give him.
FYI: I've heard from a very reliable source that Parasound is working on a DVD player with DVD Audio capability AND that Rotel is working on a recorder.
