Did Pigpen have a name?

I watched the Charlie Brown Thankgiving special and it made me think of that character Pigpen even though he is not in that episode. Anywho, did Pigpen have a name? Like Jack or John or something? I cannot recall ever hearing them say anything but Pigpen.

According the the official Peanuts site - his name is Pig-Pen.

You can see the first comic strip he was introduced - July 13, 1954.

I should name one of my children Pigpen... it's no worse than the couple that named their child 'ESPN' *dun a dun... DUN A DUN*
