Just a silly poll.

How old are your kids and what's their favorite tunes.

My son is 3 and his top 10 (in order) are:

1. Mrs. Vandebilt - Paul McCartney (he calls it Hey Ho, and it's his favorite by a long shot)

2. Old Time Rock & Roll - Bob Seger (he just calls this one Rock & Roll)

3. Yellow Submarine - Beatles

4. I'm Alive - ELO (he calls this Xanadu)

5. All Over the World - ELO (he calls this one Xanadu too)

6. All Together Now - Beatles

7. Mess Around - Ray Charles

8. Hello, Dolly! - Barbara Streisand & Louis Armstrong

9. Boris the Spider - The Who

10. Play that Funky Music, White Boy - Wild Cherry

Don’t take me to a disco, …

My son’s 27—when he was in high school it was REM, Pink Floyd, U2 etc.

Still like that old time rock n’ roll,
That kind of music just soothes the soul’
I reminisce about the days of old,
With that old time rock ‘n roll.

Not the Silver Bullet Band.

My 4 year old daughter doesn't like any of the rock/pop my wife or I listen too. The only thing she likes much that I play is Django Reinhardt. She prefers showtunes.

1. I Want it Now = Veruca Salte/Willy Wonka
2. Pure Imagination - Willy Wonka
3. Anything else on the Willy Wonka soundtrack
4. Favorite Things - Julie Andrews
5. Singin' in the Rain - Gene Kelly
6. The Lonely Goatherd - Julie Andrews and kids

The rest would be songs from the TV shows she likes, Caillou, VeggieTales or kid songs like they sing in preschool or traditional Christmas songs.

My Daughter is 3-1/2 and of as most kids her age she likes any song that comes from a movie. We listen to a lot of Beatles in the car, and at night I usually sing Golden Slumbers to her and she likes it despite my horrible voice. My wife sings our national anthem to her every night which is why it appears here. My daughter knows every word to it and has made a habit of singing it to her stuffed animals when tucking them in.

Here's my interpretation of her top 10 based on number of requests:

1. I'm On My Way - The Proclaimers (From the Shrek Soundtrack)

2. Golden Slumbers - The Beatles Abbey Road

3. Rocky Raccoon - The Beatles White Album

4. The Star Spangled Banner

5. Jelly Man Kelly - James Taylor

6. The Monkey Song - Louis Prima (The Jungle Book Soundtrack)

7. Hakuna Matada - The Lion King Sound Track

8. Octopus' Garden - Abbey Road

9. Sheryl Crow - All I Wanna Do

10. The ABC Song! OF COURSE!

C is for cookie, it’s good enough for me,
C is for cookie, it’s good enough for me
C is for cookie, it’s good enough for me;
Cookie, cookie, cookie starts with C.

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood

Won’t you be my neighbor?

Mr. Rogers and Sesame Street were a pretty big source for my son when he was young.
