Anyone know of an online merchant with a decent price on the Denon AVR-3803?

DakMart has a "B" stock 3803 for $809. They are "authorized" to sell these by Denon. Shipping runs about $35.00.

Thanks to Denon's recent price cut, the MSRP on the AVR-3803 is now only $999. You can get a new one from www.goodguys.com for $999, minus 10% on sale, with free shipping--total cost $899. Goodguys are authorized for E-commerce by Denon.

You might want to check this out. I have never purchased from 6ave before but Denon does list them on their sight as an authorized dealer. Once there just search for Denon. There is a thread over at the polkaudio forum where a couple guys purchased the 3802 for $649 and it was out of stock so 6ave upgraded them the the 3803 for no extra $. I couldn't get the link to copy here though. If you want to read it go under their 'flea market' forum and look for 'Denon 3802'

Actually, I've read where 6th Ave. offered a Denon AVR-1803 for $299 - shipped last week. However, they ran out of stock and for people who asked, they were substituing the AVR-1804 for the same price.

I'll be willing to bet that the 3802 --> 3803 substitutions made by 6th Ave were several months ago since the 3802 has been phased out for some time.

Wayne, Those posts I mentioned about the 3802-->3803 are dated 9-19-03 thru 9-27-03.

Tyler,

Thanks. Seems kind of odd that a larger retailer (like 6th Ave.) would have some older Denon 3802 receivers still around.

I got a 3803 last week from my local Good Guys store for $900.00. I told the sales guy I was going to order one last night off the web site and would do so that night if they could not match it. He checked with his manager and said no problem. Getting two new Pioneer Elite racks Thursday to match my new Elite 630HD and hope to get the 3803 put in the new racks and hooked up on Saturday. My 3803 is replacing my 7 year old Denon AVR-3200 which has served me very well. Hope to get as much use out of my new Denon.
Later
