Re: Worst Movies Ever Made?

Worse movie of 2008 so far? hmmm... Speed Racer was pretty bad, but that was a childrens film so its not fair picking on it... lets see... Deception starring Hugh Jackman and Ewen McGregor was godawful... The Love Guru was shite and I didn't finish Be Kind Rewind, life is too short.

So, who thinks the new X Files is the worst movie ever made?

It wasn't that bad. In fact, there were a lot of things I really liked about it. It wasn't the "best" but for a $3 matinee, it was worth the price of admission.

Re: Worst Movies Ever Made?

Worst films I saw this year were TRANSFORMERS and EVEL KNIEVEL. Granted, neither were made this year, but both annoyed me thoroughly.

Worst actually produced this year, I'd have to say THE STRANGERS. It started up decent enough then started cheating itself till it became totally ridiculous, which is death to a movie for me.

Re: Worst Movies Ever Made?

I might have to add SPEEDRACER to this list............yeah, it's that bad.

Thanks Michael. Being dyslexic I don't always catch these things (literally don't see them) and my spell checker can't distinguish between possessive and and plural, so they slip by now and then.

No it's not.
might be on your list but it isn't on mine.
I liked it.

Just wish the blu ray had a better audio track, lossless.

Re: Worst Movies Ever Made?

Masters of the Universe (He-man) I'm not sure if a movie could get worse than that, except maybe...

Since this thread is about what films we consider the worst....Yeah...it IS that bad.....and it is on MY list...and imo a lossless audio track would not have made a difference to me in the least.

The Creeping Terror is my vote for the worst film ever made. It's about a wall-to-wall carpet from outer space that eats middle-aged people at proms and hootenannys. There is no dialog in it, only voice-over. The monster's main "power" seems to be the ability to frighten people so much they don't run away but rather crawl into the monsters mouth.

this is very, very, closely followed by the ever-awful, Manos: The Hands of Fate. Manos is beaten in this race because it actually has dialog, occasional bits of "cinematography", and actors who, no matter how awful, attempt to act. Manos is indescribable. You just have to see it.

Last in my top three awful films of all-time is Pod People. Aliens from another world land in a remote part of Italy where everyone speaks dubbed English and consume members of a no-talent music band. While we applaud the efforts of the aliens there are some embarassing moments having to do with an annoying, psychologically-disturbed boy who befriends a baby alien who also eats people. "Andy in control now, idiot in control now, handy is whole cow, Flying high on a wire, wheels on in mire, whizzing on fire, burning rubber tires...." It STINKS!!

Got to see these in their MST3k versions. Anything else and you risk schizophrenia.

The Creeping Terror and Manos are certainly two of the most inept, but I especially love the two I listed in my previous post. Those two are so bad they are good.

Re: Worst Movies Ever Made?

Spider man 3,

and Xmen 3.

Start production on a movie without a coherent screenplay, and you get chaos.
Never thought I'd be tempted to walk out of a Spidey movie. Absolute rubbish!
Takes a special kind of film that can make good actors look painfully bad.

I didn't care for either of those moves, but the music, sound, cinematography, editing, costumes, makeup, special effects, visual effects and stunts prevent them from being the worst movies ever IMO. There are many crappy low-budget movies with no redeeming qualities whatsoever that I would rate much lower. But since they aren't as well known it's not as fun.

I think movies like these better belong in a thread titled "Worst A-Movies you have Seen".

Re: Worst Movies Ever Made?

Oceans 12
- The biggest pile of garbage I've ever seen. Horrible, just horrible.

Swordfish
- Even Travolta couldn't save this stinker.

The Fisher King
- Reminds me of why I hate Robin Williams. Absolute tripe.

Re: Worst Movies Ever Made?

1. Night Patrol (1984) Walked out of this stinker.

2. Last Days (Kurt Cobain's last days ... just puttering around doing nothing).

3. Inland Empire (David Lynch's artistic flop)

4. Alien Resurrection (Awful!)

5. Epic Movie (It doesn't get any worse than this!)

6. Brian DePalma's The Black Dahlia (Horrible! Read the book!)

7. Superman III (WTF?! Richard Pryor sidekick?)

8. Mama Mia! (Wife said it was too cheesy!)
