I just picked up my set yesterday at Best Buy for $99 (they also have the Zepplin box set listed at the same price, by the way). The more I listen to the CD's, the more I tend to think of them as a "Special Editions" to the definitive remasters, which I think still hold up well. The DTS surround is terrific for out-loud listenning in a large room and makes this purchase worthwhile for me from that perspective.

This is not my favorite period of Genesis, but given the work that was put into this first box, I am definitely looking forward to the next sets, in particular the Gabriel era. The thought of hearing "The Lamb..." in full DTS 5.1 audio before year's end is just too exciting for me.

I didn't get around to listening to the surround mixes over the weekend (despite my plans), but I've enjoyed the CD mixes.

I'm actually liking the music on these albums more than I expected to. Even the post-Hackett discs have a good neo-proggy vibe to 'em, and I loves me my neo-prog.

I'm psyched for 5.1 mixes of the Gabriel era as well (I hope BB does a $50 sale on that set too ).

Now this is strange...I went out to CD Universe to find out when the next batch of SACDs with DVDs are being released (Invisible Touch, We Can't Dance, etc.) and they are nowhere to be found. I remember it being in July, but was the release date moved?

is there a physical store?

the second batch hasnt come out yet i dont think?
if they come out in july we may not see anything until just before they are released.

You know, I wasn't too interested in the '83-'97 set, but I'm enjoying the '76-'82 set so much, I might just pick it up.

I hope they add some live material to the DVDs though -- the music videos aren't too exciting to me.

Looks to be the same confusion on various websites as the last bunch - whether they are full box sets or just the SACD/DVD's without the 'Bonus' SACD/DVD. Does Europe Import mean NTSC when in fact it might be PAL, etc etc.

hmv japan doesn't list it yet.

I just pre-ordered mine from CD Universe. Each one is $26.29 and (it says) will be released next Tuesday, 9/11. Each includes the Hyrbid SACD + Bonus DVD/NTSC.

Well, it looks like the date has changed to 10/8 now.

All 3 are the Hong Kong Imports (Hybrid SACD) with the Bonus DVD/NTSC.

FYI: The standard US 2-disc sets have showed up at BMG. With the 2/3 off + free shipping deals they often run, you're looking at all five sets for under $35 total.
