What's Your Favorite DVD Cover?

I'm just wondering if you have a favorite DVD cover for any of the releases you have and what region are they. I'm not talking packaging, but the actual artwork.

I think mine, right now, is Cowboy Bepop: The Movie (R1). It has the right mood for what's inside the case.

Any covers using poster art are my favorites. Some using new designs are good, too. There are plenty of lousy posters for movies out there...

For anime... I am really liking the Chobits covers so far...

I'll add some more non-anime covers later... too tired

The Bebop R1 art is terrible. Try the original (sorry don't have a bigger one)

Tron and Se7en are both great. Art over noggins!

Jeff, I was about to say the same thing. The R1 cover of Cowboy Bebop is one of the worst I've ever seen.

As for my favorite cover? Maybe Rashomon: Criterion

I love the WARNERS COVERS, that incorporate
the original MOVIE POSTERS from the films,
like "MILDRED PIERCE", "Bad And The Beautiful".

Just to illustrate how bad the Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door art is in R1... let me show ya the excellent coverart for the series.

as opposed to:
(cartoon equivalent of "noggin shot")

I also like special case designs like the Akira: Limited Edition Tin...

and the Wicker Man and Samurai Deeper Kyo wooden boxes.

I 2nd The Wicker Man, for classic poster art 42nd Street, but my favorite is probably Rebecca: Criterion

Right off the top of my head, I'd say Fight Club and the second season of the Sopranos.

Noggin's or no noggins. This cover is BAD ASS.

And I agree with Jeff, the US Bebop cover blows.

Jeff, I'm sorry to say, but the R2 Bebop art is also terrible!

I'm sorry, but this looks like a giant mish-mash of stuff that they threw together in Photoshop! Still, both Bebop covers suck. Paul_Stach had the best idea for Bebop coverart. And Rob, it is not a noggin shot, since it shows their whole body. Hey, at least they used the original U.S. poster art for it.

For all of you who think the R1 Bebop cover sucks, just be happy that we did not end up with the R4 version.

Now that I have that off of my back, here are some of my favorite DVD covers.

That Mononoke cover REALLY sucks. Seriously, there is a quote comparing it to "Star Wars" and they made the katanas looks like lightsabers

My favorites (my collection anyway) are:

Robocop : Criterion - minimalist (a quality I love on covers) but also gritty

Fight Club - plain brown wrapper is perfect.

Twin Peaks : The First Season - really like how it seems wholesome on the outside, but has a very different take when you open it.

Bad Taste - I love that we were able to get him "expressing" himself properly.

Sure Rob, whatever. It just looks much cooler in real life with the holographic swords.

Just a couple faves. First post as well....... I think the Throne of Blood cover is perhaps the best DVD cover I've ever seen.
