Are Panasonic dvd recorders good progressive scan dvd players?

What I want to know is, I am buying a dvd recorder this weekend and want to know if they make good progressive scan dvd players for normal dvd viewing. Or should I have a stand alone dvd player such as the RP91?

I am not the expert, but I believe the Pannasonic DVD recorders do not have the good decoder and DCDI de-interlacing foun in players like the RP91, RP82, and CP72 along with the newer line of players. I have a RP82 and a HS2 recorder, and the RP82 looks much better than the recorder when used to playback content. I am not sure how the recorders stack up to other players, but the Panasonic players are among the best. I'm not saying the recorders are bad...just that they are not the best.
