My local Hi-Fi shop has this going for $399...is this a good deal on this?

The price is OK if they are a legit authorized Elite dealer. I have seen cheaper Internet pricing from non-authorized dealers.

Then the question is, is this a good player for the price? I have one and like it (bought in October for about $500), but the opinions very greatly. If you search on this forum for 45A, you will find lots to read. there are audio and video issues. Whether or not they matter to you only you can say.

Brian,
They are an authorized Elite dealer. They always drop there prices once it is time for the next models to come out...so I guess maybe there will be a new elite line on the way soon.
