Anybody's Bridget Jones Diary DVD die on them?

Mine used to play fine, now it freezes up on the layer change (when she is on the train, about 1:25-1:28 or so into the movie) on my Sony Nc615. I can fast forward and usually get out of it It won't even load on my S3000. No scratches, fingerprints, etc.

Sounds like another case of DVD-Rot.

Is anyone anywhere keeping track of the subject of DVD failures?

There seem to be several posts just today about glitches, sound problems etc.

There have been dozens of similar posts in recent months.

I think the "industry" should start paying attention to both disk and player reliability, or the DVD experience is going to be as miserable as the home computer experience - way too many incompatibilities, instabilities, and forced "upgrades".

I just watched my copy of Bridget Jones Diary yesterday and everything was fine.
