I Swallowed Half A Toothpick Last Night - Page 2

This reminds me of a true story that happened to an ex-gf of mine.

About 2 years ago she went to a deli by her work and ordered a tuna wrap. While she was eating, she felt something stuck in her throat. She tried throwing it down with some water but it didnt help.

She went home and it was still bothering her. So she went to the ER with the assumption that she had a bone stuck in her throat.

After waiting awhile, a doctor took a look. The doctor insisted that there was nothing stuck in her throat and that the sensation she was feeling was from an abrasion of the bone passing through. My ex-gf didn't think so and demanded that the doctor take another look. The doctor goes for another look and says, and I quote "OH MY GOD!" -- At this point my ex is freaking out -- how unprofessional!

The doctor grabs some medical-pliers and pulls out a RUSTY OLD FISH HOOK from her throat! Needless to say she's suing and expects a settlement soon.

I haven't talked to her in a few months, but she's been trying to contact me recently -- I wonder how it all worked out

Human stomach acid can dissolve razor blades
But how long would it take?
Forget how long it would take...I want to know how the hell you swallow razor blades without cutting up your mouth, tongue, and throat in the first place? OUCH!!!!!

My friends puppy once swallowed a sewing needle and the vet just said that the pup would eventually pass it. OUCH! The puppy passed it with no problems. So I guess if a teeny pup can pass a metal pin, a wooden tootpick can't be too bad...

as long as you don't pee it out...I bet every guy just winced in his crotch area after reading that...sorry.

If Matt still has to worry about that toothpick after seven years, he must have a sarlaac pit up in his guts.

C'mon, Greg.  It was Alex, not Matt who swallowed the toothpick.  Keep up with the thread, man!

I didn't notice we were on page 2.  I figured only Mark even cared.  Have to admit, the "first" post was kind of confusing since it talks about fish hooks instead of toothpicks.

Well, apparently you haven't been following this thread for 7 years like I have.....

It...is...alive.

The thread, that is.

I'm glad you showed up before someone out of the loop thought I was being a jerk.

Glad I could have your back...

Last night I was eating some home made cake someone made for me and i forgot to take the toothpicks out. I think I swallowed an entire toothpick because I was hungry and chewing fast. It kind of hurt in my throat when it went down. Even though I am trying to lose about 10 lbs I immediately started eating as much cake as possible to make sure the toothpick went down ok.

Today I am fine and I had no problem when I went (you know)

So I think your body can handle it. I'll let you know if not but for now I feel great and the cake was delicious.
