Is there such a thing as a wireless surround system?

I'm just wondering since i'm moving into my new place next week and I don't want to have to go and spend $50 on wiring for my surround speakers. I just thought that it might be possible there are wireless surround systems out there somewhere. I may be crazy but hopefully someone knows for sure.

There are quite a few options for "Wireless speakers" (do a Google search on that combo of terms), but they don't come cheap, and usually more than $50 (but that's including the speakers and the transmitter).

I find that most customers seem to forget that those 'wireless' speakers will have a power cord!
