Just thought you'd like to know you have excellent taste.

Still waiting for THE GLASS KEY and... THE BLUE DAHLIA....

Re: Film Noir - LIST

With DePalma's Black Dahlia coming up, I'd think it'd be a perfect time for the Blue Dahlia to hit DVD.

Yeah, I regularly visit ebay.com and I often notice, that many "pals" pay 35 bucks (and even more) for the R-0/NTSC bootleg (even with trailer) of this film.

So, (desperately) awaiting DVD-release: LINK.

By-the-way, why "FOX NOIR" released VICKI ?
I don't hate her, but it's a remake of I WAKE UP SCREAMING, in their "Noir" collection too. Other "Noirs" with different scenario's are still waiting for DVD-release, like CRIME WAVE, THE GLASS KEY, THE BIG STEAL, THE BLUE DAHLIA....

Thanks Darrell that made my day.

Me too. Doesn't seem like Uni knows what to do with their Noirs, aside from letting them gather dust in their vaults.

I guess the premise that 'inventory is cash in the wrong form' is a concept that is alluding them.

Re: Film Noir - LIST

The idea of voting for favourite movies sounds great. The question is how seriously these suggestions are taken into consideration.

Re: Film Noir - LIST

Hmmm.. we may expect no THE BLUE DAHLIA, THE BIG STEAL, etc.

However, we now may see a series of Western-Noirs: LINK....

The movies:
- Little Big Horn (1951)
- Rimfire (1949)

And, to remain on-topic:

A good DVD transfer of BODY & SOUL (1947) , R2UK/PAL:

Re: Film Noir - LIST

Thanks for the updates folks. Irina, that is not an authorized release of Ministry of Fear.

Re: Film Noir - LIST

Herb,
Thank you for pointing out. It is not always obvious as these companies are masquerading pretty well. I have removed the link to Ministry of Fear since it was not an official release.

Re: Film Noir - LIST

First 9 films in The Falcon series were released on DVD in Finland as you can see in this post. Falcon Takes Over is one of them and it's on your list.

Re: Film Noir - LIST

Falcon in Hollywood and Falcon in San Francisco are not in the set, but Falcon's Brother (the first one with Tom Conway) and Falcon and the Co-eds are. Sorry for the confusion.

Re: Film Noir - LIST

That Australian listing for "Blanche Fury" indicates that it's in black-and-white. Surely that's a mistake. Can anyone confirm that this DVD is in color?

I have this edition of Blanche Fury and it is in color.

Re: Film Noir - LIST

Multi-Region (aka Robert): Val Lewton's The Seventh Victim has many trappings of film noir, despite its horror tag (along with Cat People and The Leopard Man). Many noirheads (myself included) consider all three films noirish enough to count.

No worries, this thread continues to be about film noir.

OK, Thanks

I was already afraid "loosing ground", as my AVATAR (and from other members too) has disappeared (since last weekend) ...

And, by the way ...check the prices (at ebay.com) of FOX NOIR "BOOMERANG!": 45 bucks and even more... "collectors item":

> Now I know, what "BOOMerang" means...

edit:
Even "Boomerang!" BOOTLEGS appear... BOOMing business!
