I'm planning on installing a large (aprox 34' x 14') patio off my walkout basement this spring and thought I'd ask you all for some advice/direction.
My original thought was to make it a wooden walk-off deck to go with the 12' x 12' deck I'm putting in off the breakfast area a story above the planned patio. But, concern with water accumlation and rot of a walk-off deck in the relatively moist climate of New England has me looking at alternatives.
I'm currently looking at having either a stone/brick masonry deck installed or having a textured concrete slab put in. Certainly the concrete slab would be the least expensive option and I've heard that the new textured treatments look fantastic. Have any of you all gone the textured concrete path? How does it look and hold up?
Thanks!
