Mulva?

Mulva?

Ah, Mulva, the funniest nick-name ever given to a person IMO.

A while ago I was reading a diagram about a womens vagina and all the names to the different parts and all I kept thinking of was the names George and Jerry were coming up with regarding those parts. I just laughed and laughed.

LOL. I knew I couldn't get away clean. I was going to try and explain myself but it sounds bad no matter how I try and spin it.

From page 3:
One of the great and sometimes quite subtle aspects of Seinfeld scripting is the use of repetition and parallelism (often unexpected).

Rex, you forgot maybe the biggest example of all: The same conversation that starts the series (Jerry and George talking about shirt button placement, I believe) is the very one that ends it, in the prison cell, during the brilliant final pullback.

Kramer: "Here's to feeling good all the time!" (he takes a swig of beer while puffing a cigar out the side of his mouth)
(The Sniffing Accountant)

Elaine: "You speak Burmese?" / Peterman: "No, Elaine, that was gibberish."
(The Chicken Roaster)

Later in the same episode Elaine is wearing an Urban Sombrero and Jerry says: "Now who's the bozo?"
Elaine points at herself.

Actually, that second bit is from "The Foundation" and the word is doofus, not bozo.

One of my favorite moments from the series isn't a line, but a the moment when Mary Hart is talking on Jerry's TV and Kramer has the seizure behind the couch. Elaine and Jerry just keep talking while Kramer keeps trying to get back up. Funny Stuff.

Now some quotes.

Geroge: "Remember Jerry, it isn't a lie if you believe it."

The gang sitting at Dinky Doughnuts, and they see Joe Dimaggio. Kramer then starts smacking the table and yelling, "YEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPP"

Banya: "Yeah I've been working out, I'm huge!"

Oh, another great moment is when they have the close up of George trying to open the condom.

Or Newman, from the same episode:

"What kind of snowblower did you set us up with?"

Don't remember what episode this was from....

Jerry, from his parents home in Florida, calling Kramer, who is in Jerry's apartment:
J: What's that sound?
K: Just making some of my tomato sauce, hot and spicy!
J: You aren't wearing a shirt, are you....
K: Yes I am!
J: OK, what color is it?
K: um..uh.. dammit!

George calls Jerry

jerry: Hello?

george: (sounding flustered) Jerry! Jerry! You got over to Kramers and wake up the Japanese people! They were up all night drinking saki in the hot tub! They gotta get down here to meet the tv people! Jerry!

jerry: Uncle Leo?

George: JERRY!!!!! starts hitting phone receiver on the booth.

Ah, yes. Another oft repeated set-up. I belive "Who is this?" receives more use. As in . . .

From The Nap

Steinbrenner is in George's office which contains a desk with a compartment where George can nap the day away while "working" for the Yankees. Steinbrenner is trying to figure out the name to a song that's in his head. "She's a heart breaker, love taker . . ..Oh. Oh"

Jerry: (on phone) hello.

GEORGE: Jerry, I'm trapped under my desk. Steinbrenner is in the room. You got to help[ me.

JERRY: Who is this?

GEORGE: Jerry, . . .

OR . . .

From The Dealership
Again, probably my favorite episode.

[Setting: Elaine’s apartment]

(Phone rings, she answers it)

ELAINE: Hello?

JERRY: (Over the phone) Elaine, you’ve got to get back down to the dealer. Puddy is screwin’ me on this car, which is yellow now!

ELAINE: (Jokingly mimicking Jerry) Who is this?

JERRY: (Banging the phone against the booth) Elaine!

This is another one that can be funny in daily use. Sometimes my wife will call me at work and launch into whatever it is that she has to tell me. Whenever she's done, a pause and a "Who is this?" always gets a laugh. The longer they go on and on, the funnier it is.

Jerry: Who goes anywhere with Newman?

"Ah, Mulva, the funniest nick-name ever given to a person IMO."

What I never understood in that episode was why Jerry guessed Mulva as Delores' name twice. He knew it wasn't Mulva midway through the episode.

"He's a RE-GIFTER!"

...funny becuase I'm planning on re-gifting something for a wedding shower next week. But they won't know... oh no they won't!

"...sex, to SAVE the friendship!"

I eagerly await the season episodes on DVD.

IIRC, the second guess was when she was already onto him, so he was just cracking a joke, knowing that he couldn't come up with the name.

I think the Junior Mint thing was from the same episode.

In my opinion, we never find out for certain the woman's real name. When the character makes a second appearance in "The Foundation" (#135), Jerry calls her "Dolores" only tentatively. I have never been sure that is really her name, even from the end of "The Junior Mint" where it remains an unconfirmed guess on his part, since she walks away.

Jerry Seinfeld, after repeated whiny denials that his supermodel caught him picking his nose have issued to no avail:
(approximate)
"And what if I did do it? Is that so unforgivable?
. . . Did God say to Moses, 'Thou shalt not pick!'?
. . . ."

(To the crowd at large.)

". . . If we pick, do we not bleed?
'I am NOT an animal! I am a human being!'"

("The Pick")

The parallel in the episode is, of course, Elaine's defense against the humiliation of having her picture disseminated with one of her nipples exposed in it. She finally tells a boyfriend(?) who's walking out on her at the office, that, if her nipple is exposed, it is not she who is caught in sin, but her disparager. "For I have seen the nipple on your soul!"

Alright, I won't get this exact but here is the jist:

"I'd have to become an orgy guy! I'm not an orgy guy! I'd have to grow a mustache, get shag carpeting and wierdo lighting. I'd have to get new friends, I'd have to get orgy friends! No, I can't do it."

"Jerry was necking during Schindler's List!?!?"

"Yes, and a more offensive spectacle I cannot recall."

I didn't feel like reading the whole thread, so sorry if this has been mentioned.

From The Bizarro Jerry...

ELAINE: "I can't spend the rest of my life coming into this stinking apartment every 10 minutes to pore over the excrusiating minutiae of every single daily event."

JERRY: "Why not?"

No. His is a list of "Seinfeld terms". Your suggested addition is a phrase or a "line", as I have called it in the title of this thread, and, therefore, is inappropriate for his list.
